We’re excited to offer another opportunity to participate in our capacity building workshop, From Crisis to Clarity: Scenario Planning for Nonprofits. Join us on June 23, 2026, from 9:00–10:30 a.m. (CST), with Steve Zimmerman of Spectrum Nonprofit Services. This virtual session has been streamlined in time from our hybrid workshop offered last month, while still delivering the full value, tools, and insights nonprofit leaders need to navigate uncertainty with confidence.

Register today at https://loom.ly/t3ZP77M or visit the St. Louis Philanthropic Organization (SLPO) website under the Capacity Building tab at www.stlphilanthropic.org!

We’re also pleased to share an additional learning opportunity on June 16, 2026, at Noon (CST)! Join Steve and Jan Masaoka of the Philanthropy Project for a timely webinar revisiting the Matrix Map framework and its relevance for nonprofit leaders facing today’s funding challenges. This session will provide practical strategies for balancing mission impact, financial sustainability, and organizational decision-making. Executive leaders, board members, and program staff are encouraged to attend. It’s also a great refresher if you previously attended the SLPO Matrix Map workshop last fall or just want to learn more about this great tool. Register for the Spectrum Webinar at https://loom.ly/9tty63w.

For questions regarding the SLPO workshop or capacity building activities, feel free to contact us at (314) 534-4452 or via email at [email protected].

April is here and with it comes a powerful reminder of our shared responsibility to protect the place we all call home. Earth Month, highlighted by Earth Day on April 22, is a time for reflection, education, and action. This year’s theme, “Our Power, Our Planet,” calls on all of us to accelerate the shift toward renewable energy and sustainable living.

Real change starts with everyday choices and collective action. Whether it’s reducing energy consumption, participating in local cleanups, or supporting conservation efforts, each step taken brings us closer to a healthier, more sustainable future. Earth Day reminds us of the urgent need to address challenges like pollution, deforestation, climate change, and the protection of endangered species. This month - and every day - let's raise awareness, inspire action, and create lasting impact for generations to come.

Change is inevitable—but resilience is a choice. Lead your nonprofit forward with clarity, purpose, and sustainability.

The St. Louis Philanthropic Organization invites nonprofit leaders to From Crisis to Clarity: Navigating Uncertainty through Scenario Planning, an interactive half-day workshop facilitated by Steve Zimmermann, Principal of Spectrum Nonprofit Services.

In today’s rapidly shifting environment—shaped by policy changes, economic uncertainty, and evolving community needs—nonprofit leaders must make strategic decisions even when the future is unclear. This workshop will help you strengthen your scenario planning approach, assess financial health, and explore strategies to prepare for potential funding shocks—while protecting what matters most: your mission.

You’ll gain:
• A practical mindset for scenario planning in uncertain times
• Tools to assess cash flow, liquidity, and reserves
• Frameworks for balancing impact with financial sustainability
• Approaches that engage staff and board in planning for the future

The workshop will be on May 13th, from 9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., at the Deaconess Foundation Center for Child Well-Being located at 1000 Vandeventer, St. Louis, MO 63113. Participants can attend in person or virtually (limited seating). Continental breakfast will be provided. Register today under the Capacity Building tab on the SLPO website at www.stlphilanthropic.org to secure your spot!
