When Stephanie Alport began volunteering at the JFS Harvey Kornblum Jewish Food Pantry in March 2020, she wanted to help meet an urgent need in the community.

Five years later, she still volunteers every Wednesday morning and calls it her favorite day of the week.

“Taking care of our community is really important to me,” Stephanie said. “I feel like I am making a difference in people’s lives.”

Today is World Hunger Day, a reminder that hunger affects neighbors right here in our community.

At JFS, the Harvey Kornblum Jewish Food Pantry helps children, families and seniors facing food insecurity access the nutritious food they need with dignity and care.

JFS NORC held a special Bingo Event at the JCC, bringing participants together for friendly competition, laughter and connection. Congratulations to our winners, and thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the afternoon so enjoyable!

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, a reminder that mental health care is an important part of overall well-being.

JFS offers compassionate support for children, adults and families through counseling, school-based services, diagnostic testing, child and adolescent psychiatry, and care coordination. Whether someone is coping with stress, anxiety, grief, behavioral concerns or other challenges, JFS is here to help.
