$1,000 left to raise immediate goal, $1,700 stretch goal!

While we paid the first $1,000 thanks to your help of $2,700, we have been told by the landlord we must now pay at least another $1,000 within the next 10 days! The final deadline is June 9th.

It’s one of those difficult situations where we literally struggle to even get the word out consistently enough to address what is happening… with just this ONE client! When you are a tiny grassroots org where the money actually goes out into the community and volunteers do everything even at the highest levels… you break through walls that others wouldn’t even attempt to touch.

We are only able to even attempt this work thanks to YOU, our online and IRL, often boots on the ground community!

We love yass! Now let’s get it done this Pride month for our LGBTQIA+ client facing eviction!

$105 left to raise immediate goal, $1805 stretch goal!

$895 raised of $1,000 at minimum, full amount now with next month’s rent is $2,700+, to keep a young client from being evicted! The final deadline is June 1st.

We are definitely not getting enough donations at the moment due to the economy- dear readers, if you have the means to, please consider a monthly Zeffy donation so that we can build better capacity to help here locally. Instead, we are having to focus on just existing clients for our fundraising and can’t even start helping new ones.

We’re also working on talking through solutions for this client longer term, but in the meantime, we have to get this paid asap. The landlord has let us know that the amount owed must get to below $1k within two weeks.

Homelessness in St. Louis has increased by 25% from 2020 to 2025, according to Peter & Paul Community Services. Peter & Paul operates one of the primary shelters for people experiencing homelessness in the city.

During the first State of Homelessness event, regional nonprofit and political leaders came together to discuss what they called a growing crisis of housing instability in St. Louis and neighboring counties.

.v.i.lemons converged yesterday and added the remaining 4 of 10 Lifeline raised beds to Marine Villa Meadow Community Garden. So much fun! We also added the start of the next section beyond the fruit trees, which will be a later project - killing the crab grass is a lot of work so we are starting early!

Please support our work so we can continue to beautify the City’s food-desert zones with food forests! More to come…

“The tourist and ski resort town of Lake Tahoe must scramble to find a new energy supplier by May 2027—the result of a Nevada utility company saying it needs the power capacity in part for new data centers. The resulting energy crisis impacts 49,000 California residents who live near Lake Tahoe, nestled in the Sierra Nevada mountains on the border between California and Nevada.

Lake Tahoe’s local electricity provider, California-based Liberty Utilities, has been obtaining 75 percent of its power from the Nevada-based company NV Energy. But the latter has said it will stop providing power to the Lake Tahoe region by May 2027, according to extensive reporting by Fortune.”
