πŸ… We’re proud to share that Rural Parish Clinic has once again earned and maintained the highest distinctionβ€”the Gold Ratingβ€”from the National Association of Free and Charitable Clinics (NAFC) Quality Standards Program for 2026!

This achievement reflects our ongoing commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate healthcare to uninsured adults throughout the rural communities we serve. The NAFC Gold Rating recognizes organizations that meet rigorous standards in areas including patient care, clinic operations, credentialing, risk management, and administrative excellence.

While this recognition is an honor, it is ultimately a testament to the dedication of our volunteers, staff, donors, and community partners who make our mission possible every day. Together, we are ensuring that quality healthcare remains accessible to our neighbors who need it most.

Thank you for helping us continue to uphold the highest standards of care. πŸ’™

🌟 Team Spotlight: Cameron Hopkinson 🌟

This month, we're excited to highlight student volunteer Cameron Hopkinson! Originally from Boston, Massachusetts, Cameron is a rising sophomore at Washington University in St. Louis, where he is studying microbiology on the pre-med track. He began volunteering with Rural Parish Clinic in March and has already made a tremendous impact on our patients and care teams.

As a certified phlebotomist, Cameron serves in our medical clinic laboratory, assisting with blood draws and EKGs. He credits Dr. Nerbun for helping him develop his skills and providing invaluable mentorship. In April, Cameron expanded his service by joining our dental clinic as a patient advocate, taking vitals and helping patients prepare for appointments. He has also begun learning as a dental assistant, gaining hands-on experience that has broadened his understanding of healthcare in ways he never expected.

When asked why he volunteers with Rural Parish Clinic, Cameron shared:
"RPC has already opened many doors for me as someone early in my career and has granted me the opportunity to make a real difference in patients' lives through medicine. However, perhaps more importantly is the impact that serving at RPC has had on my faith as a Christian, serving the least of our brothers and sisters as Christ taught us to do."

We are grateful for Cameron's dedication, compassion, and willingness to serve wherever he is needed. Volunteers like Cameron help make our mission possible, and we look forward to seeing all that he accomplishes in the years ahead!

Today, we celebrate the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, a reminder of Christ's boundless love, mercy, and compassion for all people. πŸ’“

At Rural Parish Clinic, we strive to reflect that same love by caring for our neighbors who might otherwise go without the medical and dental care they need. Through our mobile clinics, volunteers, donors, and community partners help bring healing, hope, and dignity to uninsured adults across rural Missouri.

As we honor the Sacred Heart, we give thanks for everyone who makes this ministry possible and pray that we may continue to serve others with hearts filled with compassion, generosity, and Christ's love.

"Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest." β€” Matthew 11:28

πŸ“šβœ¨ Introducing Fun Fact Friday! βœ¨πŸ“š

At Rural Parish Clinic, we believe that knowledge is an important part of improving health and strengthening communities. That's why we're launching Fun Fact Friday: a weekly series where we'll share interesting facts, surprising statistics, and insights about rural healthcare, oral health, access to care, and the populations we serve.

From the unique challenges faced by rural communities to the life-changing impact of preventive care, our goal is to raise awareness, spark conversation, and highlight why healthcare access matters. Follow along each Friday as we learn something new together!

πŸ’™ June is Men's Health Month πŸ’™

Men in rural communities face unique challenges when it comes to accessing healthcare and those challenges can have serious consequences.

Did you know?

πŸ“ Nearly 1 in 5 Americans live in rural areas, where access to healthcare providers and services is often limited.

πŸ“ Rural residents are more likely to experience heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and other chronic health conditions than their urban counterparts.

πŸ“ Studies show that rural residents are less likely to receive recommended preventive healthcare services, making early detection and treatment more difficult.

πŸ“ Research also shows that rural men are living shorter, less healthy lives than men in urban communities, with higher rates of smoking, obesity, and cardiovascular disease contributing to the gap.

For many men, barriers such as cost, distance, transportation, work schedules, and limited local healthcare options can delay or prevent needed care.

This Men's Health Month, we encourage men to take an important step toward better health:
βœ” Schedule a checkup
βœ” Stay up to date on screenings
βœ” Talk openly about mental health
βœ” Don't wait until symptoms become serious

At Rural Parish Clinic, we believe every person deserves access to compassionate healthcare, regardless of where they live or their ability to pay. Together, we can build healthier rural communities one patient, one family, and one visit at a time.
