MISSION COMPLETED! 😊
🥰 We are happy to share that for the 14th consecutive year, My Childhood has successfully completed a charitable initiative in support of Bulgarian children!

This time we partnered with the amazing team of CaritasRuse Bulgaria! 🇧🇬 ♥️ We sincerely thank them for everything they do throughout the year!

🪀🧸🐩The mission was to equip a therapy room/playroom at the Specialized Children's Home "Milosardie," which will bring joy to many children for years to come! 🥰

We heartily thank all Bulgarians in St. Louis who supported our cause this year!

Stay healthy, friends! We hope this initiative inspires you to continue to be as kind and compassionate!

👉We are launching a campaign to help 8 year old Nikol from Pleven, Bulgaria fight Ewing Sarcoma.

(In children and adolescents, oncologists typically prescribe a combination of five drugs given in an alternating order for up to a year. This combination therapy is able to cure around 70% of young patients with localized disease.)

We are happy to announce that we are continuing our efforts to support young Bulgarian musicians!

In mid-October, we are sponsoring another Masterclass for young violinists attending the National School of Arts "Prof. Vesselin Stoyanov", in Rousse, Bulgaria!

The Masterclass will be over a period of 3 days, and the classes will be conducted by Professor Ginka Zaharieva Gichkova.

May this class be an inspiration to the students, and a wonderful experience for all involved.

Dear Friends,

We are very happy to share that My Childhood's (1st ever!) coloring book is now a reality! 😊🎨🖼

The original pictures published in the book were drawn by talented students attending the National School of Arts "Prof. Vesselin Stoyanov" in Rousse, Bulgaria. 👏👏👏

Every child’s participation is highly appreciated! As a small reward for their efforts, My Childhood gifted each of them a set of art materials. 😊🍀

Our special thanks to the wonderful director of the school, Mrs. Maria Dukanova, who is always an absolute pleasure to work with!

The design and print of 200 copies of the coloring books was organized and sponsored by My Childhood.

We have donated coloring books to three different community centers in Bulgaria (Pernik, Karlovo and Galiche), as well as some copies to the National School of Arts in Rousse.

This project had a few different goals, and we believe we manged to achieve them all!

The donated coloring books will bring joy to the kids visiting community centers in need!

In addition, we aimed to provide a boost of motivation to the young artists who drew the pictures, by providing them an opportunity to showcase their art to a broader audience!

It is important for young artists to feel others’ interest in their work, and to receive praise for a job well done! 👍

We feel it is essential to provide such feedback to young artists, because this helps them believe in their own abilities, and consequently, to pursue their dreams with confidence! 😊

We wish to express our gratitude to everyone who contributed toward making this project a reality.

Even small acts of kindness can bring great strength to those who need it. ❤

Apologies for the lack of updates lately, and I hope you are all enjoying the summer heat! 😉

We have some good news to share, so please take a moment to read the update below! 🥰

Our joint efforts have finally paid off!

🥳🎊🥳

We are glad to announce that our “Bulgarian Folklore is Magic” campaign is now complete!

It has taken quite a while to reach this milestone and this is why we would like to present the following overview of what has been accomplished:

Thanks to all of your donations and patience we have managed to successfully manifest 35 folk costumes for the little angels of the National School of Arts of Ruse, Bulgaria! This will ensure that the Bulgarian magic and tradition will be kept safe for generations to come!

🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬

As you might recall this whole idea started in 2020, two years ago. At first we were able to send 19 costumes, followed by 10 more in June 2021, and lastly, finish off with 6 more in early 2022.

We again would like to thank atelier "Horce" ("Хорце") in Varna, for their excellent craftsmanship.

In 2021, we also continued our 5-year tradition to create a calendar! In 2022, it features beautiful photography of young and talented ballerinas from the National School of Arts and the Youth Center (Общински Младежки Дом), in Ruse.

As result of the calendars, we have made a donation to each institution - 24 ballet tutus to the School of Arts and 14 custom folklore vests to the Youth Center (our donations are always based on actual need, so that is why the donations are different).

Huge thanks to Ginka Mateva Photography & Tsvetomir Tsvetanov Wedding Photography for their contribution!

Special thanks to the Director of the National School of Arts, Maria Dukanova and the Director of the Youth Center, Krasimira Nikolaeva, for their ***unwavering*** support, and tremendous help, with these initiatives! ❤

My Childhood wishes the teachers and students of both institutions continued success and artistic inspiration! It is our privilege to play a small part in ensuring that young Bulgarian artists have the necessary support to pursue their dreams! 🥰

Now that this campaign is fully realized we are free to come up with and tackle bigger objectives!
