No city can succeed without mamas!

That's why the St. Louis Department of Health has partnered with Korédé House to transform maternal care. With the help of ARPA funding, Korédé House is providing comprehensive maternal care to 50 women over two years, addressing longstanding maternal health disparities.

The innovative program, which launched in 2024, delivers continuous support, from pregnancy through the first year postpartum. But in addition to the exceptional care to mothers, this program also prioritizes the mental health, longevity, and professional development of doulas.

"When we support our doulas, we strengthen our entire maternal care system," said Ronke Faleti, founder and CEO of Korédé House. "Our model recognizes that addressing maternal health disparities requires both excellent care for mothers and sustainable support for care providers. This partnership with the Department of Health allows us to demonstrate how investing in comprehensive support creates better outcomes for everyone involved"

Lessons from the Supper Table: Friendship, Community, and the Power of Vulnerability

Last week, our Supper Table dinner brought together a thoughtful group to explore the joys and challenges of true friendship. The conversation was nothing short of revelatory, as guests shared their honest, vulnerable perspectives on the nature of human connection.

Some of the key insights that emerged:

"It's not just proximity - being neighbors doesn't mean you're in community."
- Angela, Weave St. Louis

"Painful friendships are like family. Embracing that discomfort is worth more than a lifetime of resentment."
- Tori

These are the kinds of profound, transformative realizations that can only come from open-hearted dialogue. As one guest said, "Damn, I didn't know belonging could feel this good!"

Whether it was unpacking concepts like "relationship anarchy" or discussing the role of faith or AI in friendship, this was a conversation that pushed us to reconsider the very foundation of our human connections.

The world is increasingly isolating, but gatherings like this prove there is still immense power in creating space for vulnerable, nourishing exchange. I'm so grateful to everyone who joined us in exploring the virtues of true friendship.

Who's ready for the next Supper Table dialogue? 🍽️
