To support the youth in our community by providing programs and resources that inspire them to serve with compassion and integrity. We want to empower kids by teaching them how to be kind, empathetic, and compassionate while supporting teachers and coaches who reinforce this!

When Ryan Piersza was organizing the Coach Kirk Legacy Race, I could sense he understood Coach Kirk’s love. He made sure there was a fun run for the younger kids.
Everyone knows Coach Kirk loved the little kids.
The owners of Jax Academy of Gymnastics partnered with the Coach Kirk Foundation to sponsor the Fun Run.
Jax Academy believes in creating confidence and character through sports.

In the tapestry of life, some threads shine brighter than others, instructing the path for those who follow. Jimmy was undeniably one of those threads, intertwined into the lives he touched.
His story, brief yet profound, resonates with the qualities of a true shepherd, expressing love and service that surpass mere words.

From a young age, Jimmy dedicated his life to honoring the Good Shepherd, exemplifying principles of care and protection. His commitment was unwavering, as he circled those he loved and cared for, ensuring the safety and well-being of every person under his watch.

His selflessness was an example, guiding many through challenging times and reminding them of the power of sincere love.

The basketball picture of Jimmy is now so prophetic. Jimmy's journey came to a premature end at the tender age of 33—a striking parallel to the life of his Savior. On his death certificate, the time of death was 11:11, an hour often viewed as a symbol of hope and a reminder of the divine presence.

This spiritual coincidence only adds to the profound impact he had in this world. His love was not something easily hidden; it shone always. His smile and presence made everyone ok.

If you knew Jimmy, you would understand the depth of his compassion. His actions spoke volumes, proving that love is not just spoken but shown through unwavering perseverance and kindness.

As we remember Jimmy, we celebrate not just his life but the incredible legacy he leaves behind. His journey may have ended, but the lessons of love, protection, and light continue to inspire those of us who had the privilege to know him.

God doesn’t want perfection; He wants our hearts.

In loving memory of Jimmy, let us strive to be shepherds in our own right—guardians of love and hope in a world that can often feel lost.

As I sit down to write, I find myself grappling with a heaviness that this past season has brought. Sometimes it feels as if I’m running a race without a finish line—every step forward is met with obstacles that make it hard to gain momentum. I truly miss Jimmy, and life doesn’t get easier without him. Yet, we all know that on the verge of a breakthrough, challenges seem to multiply. It’s during these times that we must lean into our strength, faith, and community.
Recently, I had the privilege of visiting with folks from Orlando, where Coach Kirk grew up. It was a bittersweet visit, filled with memories that tug at my heart. Coach Kirk has always embodied the spirit of a peacemaker. His relentless dedication to ensuring everyone is taken care of is truly inspiring; he lives out the mantra of “I am Third.” As a mom, it hurts to see him give so selflessly, often without recognition, but it fills me with pride to know the impact he has on so many lives.
With excitement, I look forward to the upcoming Coach Kirk Legacy 5K race on February 28, 2026. The event is rapidly approaching, and with the holiday season upon us, I feel a sense of urgency to prepare and rally support. If Coach Kirk, or anyone on the foundation board, has blessed you or your family in any way, I kindly ask for your help. Prayer is a powerful tool, and I’d appreciate your prayers for our efforts.

Last night, I had the honor of meeting Jacob Cutler, an inspiring young man who shares a passion for kids, and he coaches football at Trout Creek Academy with his dad. Our discussions centered around the need for mentors, and the board is eager to ensure our race raises enough funds to establish mentoring programs, youth camps, and clinics that will support and enrich the lives of our young people.

I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who visited the Coach Kirk Legacy Tree. Your presence made a significant impact, and I truly appreciate those who took the time to stop by and collect a wristband. It means more than words can express to know that our shared commitment to honoring this legacy is embraced by so many.

During my recent visit, I was fortunate enough to see a ray of light shine through. It was a poignant reminder of the lasting impression Coach Kirk has had on our community.

I encourage anyone who has the opportunity to visit the tree to capture the moment and share a picture. It would be wonderful to see how this tribute resonates with others.
