Remembering Dolly Parton

Our chorus was honored to bring Dolly Parton’s “9 to 5” to the stage as part of our gold medal-winning set at the 2023 Barbershop Harmony Society International Chorus Contest. That performance was our small tribute to a songwriter whose melodies feel like they belong to everyone.

Dolly’s influence stretched far beyond Nashville — from her chart-topping hits to her decades of philanthropy, including the Dolly Parton's Imagination Library that’s put over 100 million books into children’s hands worldwide. She wrote songs that crossed every genre line, and “9 to 5” became an anthem far bigger than the film it came from.

Singing her music on stage is a memory we’ll always treasure. Rest easy, Dolly — thank you for the songs, the joy, and the light you gave the world.

The Ambassadors of Harmony went big for a St. Louis crowd. They won by a single point.

We’re proud to share that we won our sixth international championship this weekend, right here in our hometown. Along with that pride, we feel real gratitude toward the Barbershop Harmony Society and toward the many talented performers we shared the stage with.

We’re also glad to celebrate alongside GQ, who made HISTORY as the first all-female group to win the quartet contest. It has been an absolute honor watching your journey.

Congratulations to Fleet Street on capturing their highest score to date, placing them 12th in the world. Exciting things to come from them and we’re so privileged to have them be a part of the AoH Family.

Shoutout to our fellas in Gateway Quartet (all Harmony STL members) for placing first in the Next-Gen quartet contest! Incredible performance! We also want to congratulate The Figment Five and Vitality for sharing the stage and competing alongside them.

We also want to show love to another in-house quartet, Fully Vetted Quartet, who just like Fleet Street, scored their highest score to date placing them 23rd in the world; also all members of AoH.

Lastly we want to give a special shoutout to Ephen Steven for their awesome performance competing in the Sing-In contest!

Thanks as well to our friends in HarmonySTL — sharing the international stage with Visions of Harmony and The Recruits Chorus was so much fun!

Now it’s time to recoup from this amazing week! See you in Minneapolis in 2027!!!
