NEWS ALERT! We Need your help!.. The St. Charles Ludwigsburg Sister Cities and Hope Lutheran Church are looking for people willing to host some visitors from Germany at the end of this month. They will arrive the evening of Thursday, August 25th and leave on Sunday, September 4th. Thank you for considering doing this! Here is the information on the group! As of today Aug. 5, Hope Church has 37 Hosts for the group and needs 10 more. The 10 had been promised by another Church which was only able to obtain 2 hosts. So, they are shy 8 hosts for the Choir.
They need our assist. I find it almost incredulous that the Church decided to take this project
On August 25, 2016, 47 members of the Ludwigsburg Philharmonic Choir will arrive in Saint Charles. Hope Lutheran Church (1975 South Old Highway 94) in Saint Charles is hosting the Choir with the assistance of the Saint Charles Sister Cities Inc - German Chapter - and the City of Saint Charles. While visiting, the Choir will perform in several concerts which are free and open to the public. On Sunday, August 28th at 4:00 pm they will perform with the choir of the First United Methodist Church at 801 First Capital Drive in Saint Charles. They have also been invited to sing "Take me out to the Ballgame" for the River City Rascals ballgame on Saturday, August 27th. While visiting Saint Charles the Choir will shop on Saint Charles Main Street, sing in Hermann, and visit several other local attractions before returning to Ludwigsburg on September 4th. Saint Charles Sister Cities German Chapter June newsletter
Greetings everyone,
What a warm summer day! Guess we're going to have to get used to it, not even being July yet. Our June chapter meeting is scheduled for next Monday, June 27 at 7 o'clock at CULPEPPER's as usual in the private room.
The agenda for the meeting is as follows:
Election of the Officials (also referred to as board members) of the German chapter. This is not the election of officers, Secretary, Treasurer etc. The Officials elected will later at their next officials’ meeting then choose officers for the 2016/2017 year. Mary Johnson chaired this committee and did a great job! Thank you Mary!
Also, we will welcome two guests for brief presentations. One guest is Miss Rene Franklin, the president of the St. Louis Senegal sister city and also the Sister Cities International, Missouri coordinator.
Our other guest is Miss Lisa Lynn Steel, choir director of the Hope Lutheran church here in St. Charles. She will share with us the details of the August 2016 visit here of the Ludwigsburg Philharmonic Choir.
It has been a most exciting past couple of weeks for our Irish brothers and sisters. Starting with the arrival of the Cardonagh delegation, led by the Mayor, and then the wonderful Missouri River Irish Fest. I’m sure will hear more of all the activities of the past few weeks.
Mary Johnson will bring us up-to-date on her son Eric who arrived in Ludwigsburg this past weekend.
Check today's St. Charles Sister Cities page to see St. Charles High and St. Charles West High students who just arrived in Ludwigsburg.
Because of the yearly elections of the German chapter officials this is a very important meeting. If it at all possible, please make an effort to attend. Thank you and best of luck for your staying cool!
