Charles County is a coalition of concerned citizens and organizations including the American Cancer Society, American Lung Association, American Heart Association, Tobacco-Free St. Louis, Young Choices, Inc., and many others. Charles County Council, their vote to pass a law making all restaurants and bars smokefree, ended in a tie. As a result of that, an ordinance that would protect all residents

and visitors in St. Charles County has yet to be passed. We need a real smoke-free law that will protect all residents and visitors from the harmful effects of secondhand smoke. The science is clear; secondhand smoke is dangerous. One third of all cancer deaths are related to to***co, and secondhand smoke is responsible for over 3,000 lung cancer deaths in nonsmokers each year. We need your help to protect the health of St. Charles County residents and visitors. To learn more or to get involved, please visit: smokefreestc.com
