People First of St. Charles People First is a self-advocacy organization run by and for adults with developmental disabilities. WHAT IS PEOPLE FIRST? People First of St.

Charles promotes equality for people with disabilities so they can be included as they so choose in the community. PEOPLE FIRST MEMBERS ARE SELF-ADVOCATES WHO:

• Teach and empower people with developmental disabilities to understand their rights and responsibilities and to speak up for themselves.

• Support members in living the life they want with the supports they need.

• Advocate for commu

nity services that allow all people to have choices and control over their supports and lives.

• Create change in communities to ensure opportunity and full, meaningful participation for all people. People First Language

Starting in July our monthly meetings will be held at the DDRB. Still the third Wednesday of every month from 6-8pm.

The O’Fallon Police Department is taking part in the Blue Envelope Program through the National Public Safety Alliance for Individuals with Disabilities (NPS-AID).

The envelopes are designed to help foster understanding and communication between drivers on the Autism spectrum and our officers.

You can pick one up at our Records Department, located inside the O’Fallon Police Department, during regular business hours.
