Good morning. Happy “Dolly Day” to everyone! It’s 9 2 5. Show us how you’re celebrating! A big thank you to all the volunteers, board members and staff reading to kids today. It is not lost on us the quote in this classroom: “In a world where you can be anything, be kind”

📚 A great week to support young readers in our community!

As Mayland gets ready to celebrate Dolly Day this Friday, we’re also shining a light on a cause that means a lot to members of our Mayland family—our local Imagination Library.

The AMY Wee Trade Fall/Winter Children’s Consignment Sale is happening September 24–26 at the Cross Street Building in Spruce Pine. Shop gently used and new children’s clothing, shoes, books, toys, furniture, baby gear and more—all while supporting a great local cause.

💛 Proceeds benefit our local Imagination Library and help put free books into the hands of children in our community.

Mayland’s Misti Silver, Program Coordinator for Social and Human Services, has volunteered with the local Imagination Library committee for several years, helping support this important work.

Come shop, find some great deals and help support young readers in our community! 📚

Today is Give Like Dolly Day! ❤️

Dolly believed that when you’re in a position to help, you should help. She gave generously, dreamed big for children and spent her life finding ways to make a difference in the lives of others.

Today, we’re carrying that spirit forward.

📚 We invite you to by supporting children in your own community. Find your local Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library program and discover how you can help put books into the homes of children where you live.

🫶 Help bring books to your community: If the Imagination Library isn’t available where you live, learn how you can help bring a local program to your community. Visit imaginationlibrary.com and select your country from the main menu to explore how to get started.

Every community has an opportunity to give a little love, lend a hand and help a child dream a little bigger.

This is what it looks like to .

In thousands of communities across the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia and Republic of Ireland, children receive a free book every month through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.

Behind every book is a community of people who believe in the power of giving—our donors, volunteers, local partners and supporters who help make this program possible.

On September 25, Give Like Dolly Day, you can help us reach even more children and families in a community near you. Every gift helps us continue building a community where children can grow up surrounded by the joy of books and reading.
