The original shed at the garden was generously donated by Rotary, and it has played such an important role in helping us grow, organize, and support the work happening at Riverside Park season after season.

Weโ€™re deeply grateful for community partners like Rotary who continue to invest in local food access, education, and connection right here in Mitchell County. Thank you for being part of this work with us! ๐ŸŒฑ

From spreading soil and mulch to harvesting and sharing knowledge together, itโ€™s been so rewarding to see the garden buzzing with life and community.

Donations to the program help us provide materials, soil, plants, and continued support to local households working toward greater food security and self-sufficiency. Every contribution helps more gardens grow ๐ŸŒป

Through the Home Gardener Program, participating households receive a raised bed, soil, plants, education, and ongoing support to help grow food at home throughout the season.

From building beds and hauling woodchips to planting veggie starts and getting hands in the soil, this program is all about growing food, confidence, knowledge, and community together.

Harvest Table season is almost here! ๐Ÿฅฌ๐Ÿ…

Starting June 12, Mitchell Giving Gardens will once again be offering fresh produce through our Harvest Table events at Riverside Park in Spruce Pine.

These no-cost community food distributions are ๐’๐’‘๐’†๐’ ๐’•๐’ ๐’†๐’—๐’†๐’“๐’š๐’๐’๐’† and made possible by an incredible network of volunteers, growers, and supporters who believe fresh food should be accessible to all. No registration needed.

Weโ€™re also looking for volunteers to help with produce bagging and set-up/breakdown

Whether you can lend a hand once or throughout the season, weโ€™d love to have you involved.
