The Ark

🎉 Local businessman Kyle Ostermeyer has expanded the historic Ark restaurant by opening a second location in downtown Springville. Ostermeyer, who purchased the original Riverside restaurant in 2022 after a career in the food industry, said he was drawn to Springville’s charm, describing it as having a “Hallmark movie feel” with a “small-town, Norman Rockwell-ish” atmosphere that reflects The Ark’s roots.

🥘 The new restaurant, located in the former Springville Café building, opened in April 2024 after extensive renovations. Ostermeyer says the location is attracting many first-time customers who had never visited the original restaurant in Riverside.

📍Founded in 1930, The Ark is known for its fried catfish and shrimp and has had only four owners in its 94-year history. Ostermeyer says his goal is to preserve the restaurant’s traditions while introducing the longtime Alabama favorite to a new community.

🪚Springville Small Engine ⚙️is a locally owned business by Stacy and Halaine Shoop, who have lived in Springville and been a part of this community for over 25 years. Stacy went to Bessemer Tech for classes and training on small engines. After years of raising a family, they took a leap of faith to turn what had been a side job to becoming a business in our town. The part time business started in 2017 quickly became a full time job for Stacy and has been growing ever since. It began as renting the old gas station building by the High School. Now the business is a new building located next to Fontaine on Highway 11.

🧰Springville Small Engine 🛠️is a place where you can buy new equipment or get your equipment repaired or serviced. They sell new lawnmowers and equipment being Dealers for Country Clipper, Dixie Chopper Zero Turns, Maruyama weedeaters and blowers, and Pioneer products such as push mowers and pressure washers. They also repair and service your small engine equipment,

Join us this Saturday, May 30th at 8 am for our Basic Handgun Training Class here at Springville Police Department!

This course will include classroom instruction along with firing range training (weather permitting).

Participants will need to bring:
✔️ Your own handgun
✔️ Ammunition
✔️ Holster

Certificates will be awarded upon completion of the course.

We look forward to a great day of training and safety education!
