Week-Long Summer Camps
Join us this summer for week-long art, science, music, and adventure camps that will entertain and enrich children of all ages! Each camp will be available to three age groups.
3-5 year old class, 6-8 year old class, 9+ year old class
Nature Detectives - June 23-27 and July 28 - August 1
A Nature Detec
tive is someone who studies plants and animals in the environment around them. In this summer camp, nature detective will learn to evaluate clues in nature by observing, classifying and using the tools of a scientist. In addition to a variety of other hands on science activities, this camp includes a field trip to Hobble Creek, where the camper will collect samples from the creek and learn how to use a microscope to identify the animal and pant life. Ooey Gooey Kablooey - June 16-20 and July 14-18
Is your child a budding chemist who loves to make concoctions? These campers will experiment with different kinds of polymers, and other amazing and fun chemical reactions. Some of the fun will include slime, flubber, and elephant's toothpaste. In addition, these scientists will experiment with color changing inks, photo sensitive activities and of course reactions that explode. Art Adventures - June 9-13 and July 7-11
In conjunction with the Springville Museum of Art, and the statewide art partnership, Hobble Creek Learning Center will embark on two art adventures this summer. For the week of June 9-13 we will explore The Art of Play and during the week of July 7-11our art adventure will be Art Around The World. We will be teaching from materials complied by the museum, including core curriculum connections and a mix of art media, as well as prints that have been carefully selected for these classes from the museum. Back To School Boot Camp - Kindergarten - August 4-8
Kindergarten Boot camp is designed for children who will enter kindergarten in the fall. This class will review early reading and math skills. The activities will be embedded in a developmentally appropriate environment that encourages creative play, exploration and discovery. Multiplication Madness - Aug. 11-15
The Multiplication Madness camp is designed for third and fourth graders that need to sharpen up their multiplication skills so that they will be ready for the challenges of division, fractions,and problem solving. Summer Preschool - T.W.TH. 9:00-11:30 a.m. June 9-Aug. 14
