Let's just get ahead of this now. This afternoon could be very active when it comes to weather. We are in an area that has the potential for tornadoes, large hail, and high winds. These storms could impact our area, so let's be weather aware, and I ask that we know where our children are. To update the community, on Tuesday evening we did have a storm that had rotation with a possible funnel cloud that we monitored. We were in constant contact with EMA, and the storm did become tornado warned just about the city limits of Springville. They activated the sirens, but as we all know this would have been to late had it been on the ground. That’s how these storms have been acting they change and increase in intensity rapidly, please if there is a chance at severe weather keep you children close to home!

Please stay weather aware this afternoon! Between 2-8pm things are setting up to be pretty active. As always we will be out if called on to give any advanced notice that we can, these will be fast moving storms which will give you less time to seek shelter if you’re outside. Be aware of where you kids may be and keep them in contact with you. You will also notice the weather service shows that are area has an enhanced risk for tornado activity. Springville fire will continue to monitor.

We stand together in sorrow with Mount Vernon Fire for the loss of one of our brothers. Adam was friend to all he knew, but to some of us on Springville Fire he was more. He was the guy we called when we needed a truck to assist with our tractor pulls, he was the man we called when we wanted to put on a training burn and wanted more to attend, and he was the man you could call after a bad call just to talk. Adam was the man who served the Great Jones County Fair as a member of our security team, with him and the men from Mount Vernon Fire that we have spent many a summer night enjoying music and the people we all know who keep coming back each year.
Adam is going to be missed greatly in so many ways. To his family if there is ever anything you may need we are a phone call away.
