Camp Jeremiah Johnson has been in exist

ence since before 1966. In February 1966 the Kolob Stake of the LDS Church donated land to the Utah National Parks Council for a Cub Scout Day Camp. The property is mostly mountainous, but lies next to a small meadow owned by Springville City. In April 1973, the Council entered into a lease agreement with Springville City to use the meadow for cub scouting activities and short-term campsites. At that time, the Camp was named Hobble Creek Scout Camp and was a premier location for quick troop overnighters and Junior Leader Training. The camp has two large metal pavilions that work great for off season group outings and family reunions. The camp sports a fort façade and the façade of an old west town, but these sets are changed each year for the theme rotations listed in general information.
