Why is it that psychedelics can make people feel an increased connection to nature?
A study conducted by the Imperial College of London concluded:
"In this particular study, we found a strong relationship between the amount of lifetime use of psychedelics and nature relatedness, as well as increases in nature relatedness from before to after psychedelic use, assessed in a prospective way."
They also found that those who took psychedelics in an environmental context had greater increases in their lasting connection to nature.
The cause of this change is still misunderstood, but the change is undoubtedly beneficial. Increasing human relationship with nature can have positive psychological effects, as well as improve human interactions with nature to avoid harm to the environment.
