Some of the Troop came out today to support the Springville First United Methodist Church and their drive to help some members in need. The scouts spent their time working around the yard, trimming hedges and trees, and also mowing and raking the lawn. Have to say, 4 hours well spent!

Getting prepared for our camping trip next month. Experienced scouts helping out our newer/younger scouts. Some of the scouts even took on the challenge of assembling a tent blindfolded. Next week we are starting out setting up the tents in the dark!👀

I have fallen a little behind with our posts!🤫 However, a group of the Scouts spent some time, a few nights ago, exploring Griffis Sculpture Park, night hike. We had a good time even though our walk went by quite quickly! 🤷

Thanks to West Valley Volunteer Hose Company, Inc. for hosting our troop at their Music by the Pond, and allowing us to sell concessions. We had lots of fun and getting to listen to Beard & the Bird just added to the enjoyment!

Interesting idea...

SGI is so excited to be able to install a Fitness and Play area behind Springville Elementary and Springville Middle School, but we need your help! This is a community build, which means we are asking members of our school community to help construct this project. Please join us on September 16 between 8AM-6PM. Lunch, snacks and water will be provided. This event will be held rain or shine. We ask that all volunteers are 14+ and that each volunteer bring three tools (if possible): a 3/8” ratchet, metal rake and pointed shovel. No prior construction experience is needed. Interesting read! Didn't know opportunities like this were out there for Eagle Scouts. With some of you thinking about your Eagle projects and having college somewhere in the future, this might be something worth looking into.

With funds totaling $524,000, NESA recently bestowed scholarships to 69 Eagle Scouts who will be attending higher education institutions, from junior colleges to four-year universities.
