✨ WE DID IT, VILLAGE! ✨
My heart is absolutely overflowing reflecting on our community workshop this past Saturday! 🥹❤️ Seeing everyone show up, share experiences and be better equipped and educated, was everything I hoped it would be and more.
A massive, deeply personal thank you to our incredible patient and caregiver panelists. Hearing you speak so vulnerably about the realities of managing Sickle Cell and fighting through the medical world brought so much comfort and raw strength to everyone in that room.
We also want to give a huge shoutout to our wonderful guest speaker, Jessica Cox from OSF Healthcare! Her passion and knowledge about Sickle Cell left us all well-educated and so much better equipped than when we walked in.

2nd Quarter Workshop Announcement! 🩸❤️

Springfield families—this one is for you!

Managing Sickle Cell disease comes with a unique set of challenges—from navigating pain crises and hydration to managing school care plans and hematology appointments. You shouldn't have to travel hours away to find the resources, education, and community you deserve.

The Village Cares is bringing our 2nd Quarter Workshop right to your backyard. Join us for an empowering, informative session focused on health literacy, practical caregiving tools, and peer support.

🗓️ When: Saturday, June 13, 2026
🕙 Time: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
📍 Where: Springfield, IL (Exact location details on the flyer!)
💰 Cost: Completely FREE
🍔 Bonus: Free lunch will be provided for all attendees!

This isn't a clinical lecture. This is a safe space to ask questions, learn from experts, and connect with other caregivers who truly understand the daily walk. Let’s build our health literacy and our Village together.
