Six Years in Samoa: A Journey of Faith
Reflections on Six Years in Samoa
On December 12, 2019, we made the life-changing decision to move to the island of Samoa. Looking back, this island has truly become our home. Although we make it a point to visit the United States every two years to reconnect with our family, friends, and visit the churches, our hearts have found their place here.
Following God’s Will
There is no greater place to be than in the center of God's will. As we mark our sixth year of full-time service in Samoa, we are reminded of the purpose and fulfillment that comes from following His calling.
The Beginning of Our Journey
Our journey began in 2014 when we joined Robert and Irene Boat on our first missions trip to Samoa. Two years later, in 2016, we returned for a short visit to teach a seminar. In 2018, we spent a little over two months on the island, ensuring this was where we were meant to serve. Confident in our calling, we took the next step and became full-time missionaries with the Church of God out of Cleveland, TN.
God’s Work in Samoa
As we reflect on our time here, we can see the many wonders God has performed—the miracles, the salvation of countless individuals, and the ongoing work of discipleship. Everything we do is for God’s glory. It is not about us, but about what He wants to accomplish here.
Celebrating Six Years
We have grown to love the Samoan people deeply, and today, as we celebrate our sixth year of living on this beautiful island, we express our gratitude and joy. Faafetai tele lava. Alofa Aiga.
