The 2025 IBSA Church Needs Survey is now seeking input from pastors, ministry staff, and volunteer leaders from cooperating churches. The short survey, conducted every fall, provides valuable insight into the ministry help and missional opportunities churches value most from their state network. The results, released in late winter alongside statewide Annual Church Profile results, give the IBSA Board and staff data to help set or adjust ministry strategies. Illinois Baptists began receiving the survey by email the week of Nov. 17. All leaders and volunteers of cooperating churches are encouraged to complete the survey through the email or by clicking on the link below.

After an eight-month search process, Dr. Scott Foshie will be presented to the IBSA Board of Directors as the nominee for the position of Executive Director. Directors will vote at a special Board meeting called for Tuesday, December 9, at 10 a.m. at the IBSA Building in Springfield.

Joel H. Newton, 63, died October 11. Newton retired from Woodland Baptist Church in Peoria in March after serving 23 years as its pastor. During his 43 years in ministry, he was active in Baptist life, serving on the Illinois Baptist State Association Board of Directors.
