Wreaths Across America At Camp Butler National Cemetery Wreaths Across America is a wreath laying ceremony that emulates Arlington Nationwide simultaneously We receive no government funding.

Our mission, Remember, Honor, Teach, is carried out in part by coordinating wreath laying ceremonies on a specified Saturday in December at Arlington, as well as veterans cemeteries and other locations in all 50 states and beyond. We also organize a week of events including international veteran’s tributes, ceremonies at State Houses and a week-long “Veteran’s Parade” between Maine and Virginia wh

ere we stop along the way to spread our message about the importance of remembering our fallen heroes, honoring those who serve, and teaching our children about the sacrifices made by veterans and their families to preserve our freedoms. This week of events is made possible by thousands of volunteers who organize local ceremonies, raise funds to sponsor wreaths, and participate in the events. The cost of our programs is paid by individual wreaths sponsors, corporate donors and volunteer truckers. We also coordinate veteran services and recognition through a variety of programs, and provide schools with teaching aides for projects throughout the year.

On the weekend of the 25th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks, we are calling on Americans nationwide to pause together in remembrance and unity, marking the occasion with two tributes: a coast-to-coast flag waving and the dedication of a new Woody Williams Gold Star Families Memorial Monument.

Come to the VFW in Taylorville on August 21st to help us raise money for Wreaths Across America. It is a fun event for us to raise money for wreaths at Camp Butler. Doors open at 5:30 with the auction starting at 7pm. If you have never been to a quarter auction this is your chance to experience this fun evening. So mark your calendars and we will see you then.
