Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Annual BBQ Fundraiser. Many enjoyed a wonderful evening of working together to protect life on September 30. We were overjoyed to celebrate the wonderful artists that grace our 2026 Calendar. Calendars are available for purchase now. https://springfieldrtl.org/shop/
A word from Kimberly Magowan, Board Member, Art Teachers, and Chair of the Calendar Contest Committee:
Let us all call to mind the beautiful words of St. Francis of Assisi: “He who works with his hands is a laborer. He who works with his head is a craftsman. But he who works with his hands, his head, and his Heart is an artist.
The 2026 beautiful calendar with artwork created by children is helping to make a statement in support of life for the unborn-those who cannot speak for themselves. But the children are speaking for them. And because each person is made in the image and likeness of God, they are showing God’s love for them through art , even if it is in a small way.
Charlie Kirk lived pro-life, he didn’t just talk about it. He reached out to the younger generation and made a difference. They are our future. They are the ones who are planting the seeds. They will be the Charlie Kirks of the future.
Charlie Kirk said:
“We are allowing babies every single year to have their life taken away just because, you know, they're smaller. But it's an embryo that's made in the image of God deserving of protection from abortion.”
I might remind you in the Dr. Seuss book, “Horton hears a Who”, Horton states: "A person’s a person no matter how small.”
To all the participants thank you very much for the beautiful art that you submitted for the Children Helping Children Art Calendar contest. We are aware of the great deal of time that you put into this project. Each work of art touched the hearts of our Judges. Through your artwork, you planted a seed in the minds of others Seeds of hope. When you plant seeds of hope God hears you and uses you as a driving force that makes you persevere because you have hope for the unborn.
You have something to believe in. You may not immediately see the fruits of your work today, but it is in the minds of all those who saw your work. Only God knows how you may have touched someone, maybe even saved a life. When you plant a seed there are no promises, but there is hope and that is all God asks of us.
That's why it’s so important to support the calendar so that we can further this cause to plant seeds of hope for future generations to support life.
We are so grateful for everyone’s participation and beautiful inspirational thoughts that we, along with the Thomas More Society, were able to present 2 scholarships and certificates and medals of recognition.
We hope that all will participate in this contest each year. You are talented and can use the gift God has bestowed upon you to protect life. And remember: “a person’s a person, no matter how small.”
Peace and God Bless,
