At the Effingham County Victim Witness Assistance Program (EVWAP), our mission is clear: ensure no family, friend, or coworker in our community faces trauma alone. But doing this vital work in rural Southeast Georgia comes with unique operational realities:
💜Geographic Spread: Covering vast rural acreage means longer travel times to transport victims to safe shelters, attend court hearings, and secure critical emergency aid.
💜Crucial Bridge: As the primary agency dedicated to victim advocacy in Effingham County, we serve as a vital lifeline—guiding survivors through complex legal systems, helping secure Temporary Protective Orders, and connecting families with housing, medical compensation, and counseling.
💜Uninterrupted Operations: Crisis doesn’t keep business hours. Funding operational realities means keeping our helpline open, our advocates equipped, and our emergency assistance fund ready when a survivor needs immediate relief.
