Congrats 👏👏👏
Benicia is celebrating a remarkable achievement as identical triplets Desha, Dion, and Deyna Miller-Garcia have each earned the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest honor in Scouting America. All three began their Scouting journeys in 2019 as founding members of Troop 9, which is chartered and hosted by Benicia’s Veteran’s Hall. Together, they have grown through years of leadership, merit badges, service projects, and camping adventures—making history as siblings, and identical triplets, who each reached the coveted Eagle rank.
Throughout their time in Troop 9, the sisters have attended council camps such as Wente, Wolfeboro, and Royaneh, and taken on troop leadership positions including Patrol Leader, Historian, and Senior Patrol Leader. They recall favorite memories of singing at campfires, leadership experiences, and adventures like watching the sunrise at Northern Tier.
Their Eagle projects highlight their commitment to service and leadership, each addressing a different need in Benicia—whether supporting youth, inspiring community spirit, or improving resources for seniors. Even as they age out of the program, the sisters continue to stay active in Troop 9 by mentoring new Scouts, joining troop trips, and helping the next generation of leaders grow.
