There’s something pretty special about hearing directly from the students at the heart of the Alliance…

Students representing Springfield Public Schools, Ozarks Tech and Missouri State University recently had the opportunity to share their stories with the Alliance Board — why they chose this path, what their experience has been like so far and what they’re loving most about it.

It was also a chance for them to personally thank some of the people who helped make these opportunities possible.

From high school to college and beyond, these students are a glimpse of exactly what the Alliance was created to do: build clearer, more connected pathways into healthcare.

These students are the reason behind it all, and we can’t wait to see where their paths in healthcare take them.

Safe to say, we’re a little obsessed with how our first-day-of-school balloon and chalk decor turned out! And the best part? These setups will be sticking around for quite a while. 🙌

👉Students + faculty: if you pass one of our balloon or chalk displays, stop and snap a pic! 📸 Tag us in your photos, Reels or Stories so we can see them and share some of our favorites.

Kinda chic to learn healthcare by actually experiencing it….

From simulation labs and neonatal care to VR training, hands-on patient scenarios and learning on equipment designed to prepare students for the real world, education at The Alliance looks a little different.

Because healthcare isn’t one-size-fits-all, and neither should the way we prepare the next generation for it.

Giving students the opportunity to explore, practice, ask questions, make connections and discover where they fit in healthcare before they ever enter the workforce?

We’d say that’s kinda chic. 😉

Not many high school students can say they’ve held a real human brain and heart. 🫀🧠

Through the Alliance, students have access to learning experiences that go far beyond a traditional classroom. From visiting Missouri State University’s cadaver lab to learning directly from healthcare professionals, these hands-on opportunities help students build confidence, explore their interests, and see what a future in healthcare could look like.

If you’re a current freshman or sophomore in high school interested in healthcare, now is the time to start exploring this opportunity! Students apply during their sophomore year and begin the program as juniors, giving them the chance to earn certifications, college credit, and real-world experience while still in high school—all at little to no cost!

What if students didn’t have to wait until after high school to discover their future?

That’s exactly why The Alliance for Healthcare Education was created.

Through a first-of-its-kind partnership between Springfield Public Schools, Ozarks Tech, Missouri State University, and CoxHealth, students can explore healthcare careers, gain real-world experience, earn industry credentials, and even complete college coursework while they’re still in high school.

As Southwest Missouri continues to face a growing need for healthcare professionals, The Alliance is helping build the workforce of tomorrow by making healthcare education more accessible, more affordable, and more connected than ever before.

The future of healthcare starts here, and we’re just getting started.

The future of healthcare in Southwest Missouri is being built through collaboration.

We’re still new in this journey, so if you’ve ever found yourself asking, “What is The Alliance?”... trust us, you’re not alone. We hear that question all the time, and we get it! So let us explain.

The Alliance for Healthcare Education brings together our founding partners: CoxHealth, Missouri State University, Ozarks Tech, and Springfield Public Schools PLUS several other partners like Evangel University, Burrell Behavioral Health Careers, and Citizens Memorial Hospital with one shared mission: preparing the next generation of healthcare professionals while helping meet the growing workforce needs of our region.

By connecting students to hands-on learning, college pathways, state-of-the-art simulation labs, and real clinical experiences, we’re creating more opportunities for future nurses, radiologic technologists, sonographers, respiratory therapists, laboratory professionals, and so many other essential healthcare careers.

This is more than a partnership. It’s a long-term investment in our students, our healthcare workforce, and the communities they’ll one day serve.

We’re incredibly excited to watch The Alliance continue to grow, welcome more students, expand new opportunities, and make an even greater impact in the years ahead. The future of healthcare in Southwest Missouri is bright, and we’re just getting started.
