As we kick off Internal Audit Month- May 2026, the Springfield IIA Chapter is proud to highlight professional voices that reflect the value of internal audit.
During a recent panel discussion, Charla V. Bond-Jones, MAFM, shared her experience when asked:
What does internal audit really do?
Her response captured the value of our profession:
"Internal audit isn't just about reviewing โ it's about opening doors, strengthening governance, and helping organizations make better decisions. Throughout my journey, internal audit has opened many doors โ opportunities to lead, collaborate, mentor, and serve as a trusted advisor. I've seen firsthand how internal auditors drive value, support risk management, and improve performance across organizations."
