Our Story

The SMSA raises funds to provide college scholarships to the children and grandchildren of Seabees and the children of fallen Seabees. We’ve awarded over $5.6 million in scholarship awards to over 900 students since 1972.

We award two and four year scholarships and Career and Technical Education (CTE) scholarships for accredited colleges and universities in any field of study. Eighty two percent of our scholarship recipients graduate in four years, more than double the national four-year graduation rate. Over half of current recipients stay STEM.
