American Business Club of Springfield Welcome to the American Business Club of Springfield, Illinois, the largest (and we think most fun) Chapter of AMBUCS in the nation!

The American Business Club (ABC) is first and foremost a social club, formed in 1925 to foster fellowship and cooperation among its members. Additionally, ABC members are encouraged to have an interest in the public welfare and be of service to their community and society in general. Our charitable activities predominately benefit physically or economically challenged children.

An all-new version of the Very Best Day of the Year happened Saturday during the Springfield Clinic Activity Day at the incredible Scheels Dome. THIRTEEN(!) Giveaways, three ABC Scholarship awards, and an all-together uplifting Celebration of the Possible. We were proud to be part of it.

American Business Club of Springfield awarded funding to 55 nonprofit organizations Sept. 28, using proceeds raised from overseeing gate admissions to the Illinois State Fair.

ABC members presented more than $126,000 to 55 groups that the club enlisted to handle this year's gate admissions. ABC has organized the fair's gate staffing since 2004.

About ten days ago, members of our Club received the second most devastating news we could possibly have received. Most of us still can't believe it and none of us wants it to be true. But it is, and so we work now to consider how we can continue to build a better community--as we have for over 100 years, Shoulders Together.
