Springfield Center of Innovation: The Dome
Ribbon Cutting and Open House Celebration on August 6th at 3:30pm!
The Springfield City School District will reopen the historic former Springfield High/South High building now named the Springfield Center of Innovation: The Dome. Through a combination of state and local funding, approximately 100,000 square feet of the building has been renovated.
Three organizations will move into the building: Greater Springfield CareerConnectED Center, Global Impact STEM Academy, and Clark State’s Food Science and Technology Program. Together they will work to increase the college, career, and life readiness of our area’s youth. The idea is to create a stronger community and improve our economic outlook.
A rededication ceremony will be held at 700 South Limestone Street on Thursday, August 6, 2015, at 3:30 p.m. Following the ceremony there will be an open house with guided tours until 7 p.m. The open house will continue with guided tours and self-guided exploration on Friday, August 7th from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., and on Sunday afternoon, August 9th, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. The public is invited to attend.
