As you reflect today on your relationship with Christ, think about what it would have been like at the time he was crucified.
A week ago we would have been cheering as he rode in on a donkey. As the week went on we would have been part of the crowds that were turning on him. We would have been wanting him killed along with two criminals. The purpose of our cheers have completely change as to now we would have been cheering for Jesus to endure insults, pain, suffering, and his death.
Then what would we have thought the day after we crucified him and laid him in the tomb? Would you be wondering what have we done? Was this really the Son of God? How scared would we have been with the three hours of darkness, the earth shaking, and the torn curtain? Again thinking, what have we done?
In today’s world how many times do we go through life doing things that we do not think about the consequences or how it may affect others. It is only after the fact when we think about what we have done and may have regrets. The good news is we know how the story ends and that Jesus suffered on the cross for us. We know that when he rose from the dead, the victory was his. He meets us wherever we are at and no matter what we have done he is willing to forgives us and wants us to have relationship with him. Jesus wants us to follow him on the narrow road vs. following the crowd of nonbelievers. Easter is coming tomorrow, and let us celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

Heavenly Father, as I turn the key, I thank you for the machine beneath me and the vast beauty of your creation. I ask for your hand of protection on me and my fellow racers. Grant me wisdom to manage the terrain, patience when the trail gets rough, and stamina to endure until the end. Keep my machine running true, and guide us all safely back to our loved ones. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Dear Lord, as this day comes to a close, I come to you in gratitude and love. Thank you for the gift of life today, for the breath in my lungs, and the strength in my body. Thank you for your constant presence, even in moments when I was too busy or distracted to notice you walking beside me. I bring to you the joys and the challenges, trusting that you are working for my good. I give my cares and worries to you, asking for your peace and a restful sleep.

I’m thankful for the opportunity to witness the sunrise this morning. I’m thankful for the farmers who plant and care for their crops. I’m thankful for the people working at the grain elevators. I’m thankful for the truck drivers and train conductors who transport our grains. I’m thankful for everyone that has a part in caring for our grains from the field to our tables.

LORD, please be with those who are struggling to put food on their table and may you provide a way for them to receive healthy meals.

Please watch over us and the crops in the fields during this growing season so there may be a bountiful harvest this fall. Help us grow closer to you and grow in our faith. Amen
