Today we honor all of the brave men and women who have fought and given their lives for our freedom and this great country. We thank you for all you have sacrificed. The men and women who fight and defend this country make it the United States we are proud to live in today.

Our hearts are with the families of all veterans. Your support is the pillar of our brave warriors. For those who are mourning the loss of a soldier our prayers are with you on this special day and everyday.

On Wednesday, our color guard team and senior members marched in the Rochester Homecoming Parade in Rochester, IL. It was an honor getting to be part of such a special week for the Rochester community!

On Wednesday we had a banquet to award our outstanding cadets and senior members, conduct a change of command ceremony, and overall celebrate the great accomplishments of our squadron over the year! Thank you to all who joined us on this memorable evening including our numerous special guests. We appreciate our communities support!

Many of our cadets have made it to Marseilles for summer encampment! We are all cheering them on and wishing them a great week at encampment!

We had another great Wednesday meeting filled with drill, character development, and ES training. Cadets learned about receiving feedback in character development. There is no meeting this Wednesday due to encampment, so cadets get to enjoy a break before the sweet corn festival this upcoming weekend!

C/SSgt Wilson has participated in NESA this past week. NESA is a National Emergency Services Academy. The program is a more in depth emergency services training. It helps cadets grow in their skills and knowledge of emergency services while meeting new people and making lasting friendships. NESA is an amazing opportunity for cadets!

Thank you to all of the brave men and women that have fought and died for our freedom and this country. Our squadron feels so much honor and gratitude daily as we get the chance to serve and honor our nations military and the great community this country provides. We hope that everyone has a fun and safe Fourth of July!

The past two weeks, two of our cadets got the opportunity to participate in Johnson Flight Academy. C/Capt Jones and C/CMSgt Heiple both got to experience a more in depth study of aircraft including numerous hours of solo flight. We are so proud of them both! They represented the squadron well!

Civil Air Patrol is a great program for cadets not only because of the things you learn, but also because of the family you build. This past Wednesday meeting took place at a senior member’s home. The cadets, senior members, and their family’s enjoyed hot dogs, hamburgers, s’mores, games, and pool time. Cadets get to create lasting memories and friendships with their fellow cadets. Even as cadets interact with other squadrons and wings they create a strong community. Civil Air Patrol is a great way to meet new people who will impact your life forever.

Yesterday our cadets got to go on orientation flights! Cadets were in the air for 3 hours and learn lots about flight. It is a great learning experience and life experience for our cadets to have as they continue on their path.

Yesterday our cadets participating in color guard marched in the Sparks in the Park parade in Rochester, Illinois. It was an honor for our squadron to be a part of this special event in Rochester.

At Wednesdays meeting the cadets participated in their first week of radio class. We had an amazing special guest come to provide the best knowledge possible to our cadets in order to prepare them for their upcoming radio test. We also had numerous promotions! It was another great Wednesday!

On this Memorial Day our color guard members participated in a ceremony at the Rochester Cemetery. It was a great way to honor the brave men and women that devoted their lives to our country. Thank you to all the men and women and service. May we always remember those who gave their lives for our freedom 🇺🇸

We had a great Wednesday meeting this week! Cadets participated in PT, Character Development, and got to see a presentation of photos by C/Wilson from a recent military museum trip. It was a great night full of hard work!
