Distinguished Young Women of Washington County 2027 DYW: Madelyn Mackin Each year we make over $820 million dollars in scholarships available. Local program winners advance to the state level.

Distinguished Young Women is a unique program that combines the chance to win college scholarships with a program that offers Life Skills training to prepare young women for the world after high school. The program takes place in all 50 states and Washington DC with some states having local programs as well. Young women participate in their junior year of high school and the summer before their senior year. Each Distinguished Young Women program evaluates participants in the following categories: Scholastics (25%), Interview (25%), Talent (20%), Fitness (15%), and Self-Expression (15%). All state winners participate in the National Finals which is held in Mobile, Alabama the June after you graduate from high school. In addition, through our Life Skills program, which includes workshops and online resources, participants can learn skills like interviewing, public speaking, self-confidence building and much more. These skills not only prepare everyone for our program but also for the world after high school and college.

🎉 Welcome to the team, Audrey! 🎉

We’re so excited to welcome Audrey Watson as our newest Springfield Main Street intern! 💛

Audrey is a senior at Washington County High School participating in their experience based work program. She’s eager to get started and will be helping us welcome visitors, create fun social media content, and jump in to help with downtown events and activities!

When she’s not hanging out with Main Street, Audrey stays busy as a Commanders cheerleader 📣, FFA member, Ed Rising member, and Student Council member.

We can’t wait to see all the energy, creativity, and ideas she brings to downtown Springfield! ✨

So, Springfield, give Audrey a big welcome! 👋 If you see her around downtown, be sure to stop by, say hello, and introduce yourself!

Welcome to Main Street, Audrey! We’re SO glad you’re here! ❤️
