Help Give Hope is a children's charity based in, and serving the Springfield, MO area. Visit www.helpgivehope.org for more information.

Help Give Hope is a not-for-profit, 501 (c) (3) charitable organization. Our mission is to assist needy families, in particular children, in southwest Missouri. Designed initially to provide help during the holiday season, Help Give Hope now offers year-round assistance to children in need.

100% of all donations go directly to the families in need. All donations are private. Help Give Hope receives no governmental assistance. Programs we offer:

Help Give Hope Used Car Program -- Established in 1998, Help Give Hope offers used cars to those in need of transportation. Help Give Hope Christmas Program -- We have currently wrapped up our 2010 Christmas project. If you need assistance this Christmas, please check with Crosslines Holiday Clearinghouse, who start their program assistance on November 29.

Michael has been doing in-home needs assessments for 20 years, and he says he has hundreds of stories like this one: a stable family, a great work history, and one need that had nothing to do with the holiday they'd come in asking about. They needed safe tires to get to and from work.

So he and a board member made the call right there in the driveway. Two hours later, that family had new tires on their car.

That's what the Christmas Project is about. It's not just gifts under the tree; it's meeting whatever need stands between a family and stability.

📦 Warehouse Audits & Organization - help us sort, audit, and inventory donated goods at our Springfield warehouse

The most common thing we see at Christmas? A separation or divorce. Why? You're going from a two-income household to one, and still coming up short when it's time to make Christmas happen.

This is exactly why the Christmas Program exists, so parents can keep the lights on and still see their kid's face light up on Christmas morning.

"You go from a two-income family to a single-income family, and you're still making it, but that extra of doing Christmas is something that's difficult to achieve."

Separation and divorce are the most common reasons Ozarks families reach out for Christmas assistance. Not because they aren't managing, they're keeping up with daily life just fine. It's the extra weight of the holidays that becomes the tipping point.

That's exactly why Help Give Hope exists. Since 1981, we've walked alongside families across Southwest Missouri so that a season of change doesn't mean a Christmas without gifts under the tree.

Every year, we get to walk alongside Ozarks families during the holidays, making sure kids wake up to gifts under the tree, and parents get to experience the joy of Christmas morning without the weight of financial stress. That's the whole point: no family should face the holidays alone.
