Here are questions an answers from a new to Islam brother living in Australia:

Questions:

I have recently Reverted to Islam. I'm currently reading a Quran that seems to have the history of events attached alongside the messages of God. This is aimed to help the reader understand when and why certain passages of the Qur'an were revealed...

I have recently began to question the whole notion of the other aspects of Islam.

1)If it is the genuine word of God, why does events and times in prophet Muhammad's life affect the message of God?

2) why did Muhammad try to gain access to the kaaba (house) while the Quran was being revealed? If he is the prophet he would have led by example?

3) Does the history of Muhammad make the Qur'an more understandable?

I'm worried the Qur'an in reading has been influenced by Sunni ideals.
Also how does one pray?

Answers:

Quran translations were indeed influenced by Sunnies.
It includes a record of communication between Allah swt and Muhammad.
Most of the orders he received died with his death and shouldn't have any impact on real Islam.

So the answer of your first question is NO.

The Kaaba is the Haram Masjid and everybody goes there for prayer, so the Prophet was just doing what he had to do.

To answer the third question I have to say that it just a history showing us what kind of man he was.
Other sources of information are all flawed and forged to support the whims of the rulers.
Don't trust them and avoid them.
For the most part Quran explains itself.

As far as prayer is concerned, you can either pray in congregation in your local Mosque or learn it from YouTube, there are a lot of videos showing how to do it.

Statement by (IQC) the International Quranic Center ) :

Denouncing the crime of slaughtering a French teacher for insulting the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him

Ahmed Subhy Mansour on Saturday 17 October 2020

An introduction

1 - News came that a French teacher had been slaughtered in Paris, because he had shown offensive cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him. And that the perpetrator was an 18-year-old Chechen youth, who refused to surrender and was killed , meaning he was convinced that he was right, just as those who blew themselves up while chanting (God is Great).!.
2- This attack comes three weeks after the attack of a Pakistani youth in front of the former headquarters of "Charlie Hebdo", which resulted in the wounding of two people.

3 - Preceded by this attack, President Macron's statement that Islam today is experiencing a crisis everywhere in the world.

4- We say:

First: The French President’s statement on Islam:

1 - It was met with an attack from the (Muslim) priesthood of Al-Azhar and others, even though they agreed with Macron, the West, ISIS and the Brotherhood that (Muslims) are (Islam). Here is the root of the problem.

2 - We always affirm that Islam is a secular religion in how people interact with each other, as for their relationship with the Creator, the Almighty, the Sublime, it is up to Him to decide upon, the Most Exalted and Exalted, on the Day of Judgment, and that is why there is no priesthood in Islam, there is no confusion between religion and politics, there are no limits or restrictions in religious freedom, and that citizenship is behavioral Islam which means (peace) regardless of sects, denominations, beliefs, religions and doctrines. And we always affirm that Muslims are human beings, they have human laws and human history, some of which may agree with Islam and often contradict and differ, and in all cases Islam is not represented by human beings, and we have an article published on our website (People of the Qur’an): (The Prophet himself does not embody Islam, so how Muslims?) published on December 09, 2007

3- We (the people of the Qur’an) strive peacefully to reform Muslims with the Noble Qur’an by reading it objectively according to its terminology, and with our miserable capabilities we are facing the two most powerful forces in the Middle East (tyranny and the religious priesthood) we are marginalized and obscured.

4- - We wished President Macron did not confuse Islam with Muslims, because Islam should not bear the burden of those who associate themselves with it, just as Christianity does not bear the burden of colonialism and massacres in the new world and the old world alike in the medieval and modern times.

Second: On the crime of slaughtering a French teacher

We issued many statements - to the point of boredom - against terrorist crimes, against innocent people in the East and in the West. It did not receive attention. Unfortunately, this will not be the last.!
We have written on our site (People of the Qur’an) articles on the Islamic way of responding to those who offend the Prophet Muhammad, such as an article entitled (In Defense of the Seal of the Prophets Against the Aggressors). In response to those who desecrate the Qur’an, we wrote: (Finally, this is my word regarding the crime of defiling the Holy Qur’an). We said - for example - that the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, had he been with us and witnessed the offending cartoons of him, his response would have been from the Holy Qur’an, with patience, forgiveness, kind forgiveness and forgiveness for those who offended him, we cited many verses, including:

2/1: (And the Hour is coming, so forgive with gracious forgiveness) Chapter 15/85

2/2: (And say it, O Lord, that these are a people who do not believe (Chapter 43 /88) So pardon them and say peace, so they will know Chapter 43/89)

2/3: (Say to those who believe to forgive those who do not expect the days of Allah, so he may reward those people what they earn (Chapter 45/14) he who does a good deed, the benefit is for his soul, he who does a bad deed ,the outcome is against it, then to your Lord you shall return (Chapter 45 / 15)

2/4: (a good deed is not equal to a bad deed; Repelling (evil)with kindness is better, so as, the enmity between you and another will turn him like an intimate guardian (Chapter 41/34) but none is granted it except those who are patient and none is granted it except those with great fortune.( Chapter 41 / 35)

2/5: (Repel evil with what is the best. ( Chapter 96/23).

3 - God Almighty sent the Seal of the Prophets as a mercy to the worlds (and we have only sent you as a mercy for the worlds. ( Chapter 21/107), but a minority of (Muslims) made Islam a terror for the worlds. We say (a minority) because the terrorist extremists are much less than one percent of the Muslim population (more than one and a half billion). But this minority is the loudest and most famous because it is the one who possesses power and wealth in its country and plays with religion, and the West supports it in considering it represents Islam.

The crisis will continue to exist, and many innocent people will pay the price, as long as the West cooperates with the eastern despot, and as long as the West remains oblivious to the (people of the Qur’an) advocates of peaceful reform, freedom, justice, tolerance and human rights.
finally

We are not talking about (reforming Islam) Islam is the real reform . We are talking about reforming Muslims with Islam, which they claim as their religion.

Amid fears about the fate of prisoners in the event of an outbreak of the Corona epidemic, Egyptian security forces are holding a member of the Qur'anic minority in Egypt.

Andalus Center for Tolerance and Anti-Violence Studies calls for the immediate release of Reda Abdel Rahman Ali and the cessation of prosecution of religious minorities in Egypt.

August 26, 2020, Cairo, Egypt— Egyptian security forces arrested Citizen Reda Abdel Rahman Ali at dawn on Saturday, August 22nd, from his home.

Members of the National Security had arrested some relatives of Dr. Ahmed Subhy Mansour, the Islamic thinker and leader of the Qaranis in Egypt, and they were all released except for Reda Abdul Rahman.

Since then, he has been forcibly disappeared, as there is no available information about his whereabouts or the type of charges against him, and he was not allowed to contact his lawyer or his family.

His family sent telegrams to the Attorney General and the Minister of Interior to reveal his fate, to no avail. Andalus Center for Tolerance and Anti-Violence Studies calls for his immediate release.

This is not the first time that Reda Abdulrahman was arrested, as he was previously arrested on October 27, 2008 and remained in enforced disappearance for more than 25 days, against the background of a post he published discussing Islamic thought from the vision of the Quranis.

Amid fears about the fate of prisoners in the event of an outbreak of the Covid-19 epidemic, and demands for the release of political prisoners and prisoners of conscience, the Egyptian security forces are still targeting religious minorities in Egypt and arresting their members.

The arrest of Reda Abdel Rahman Ali comes on the background of his being a member of the Qur'anic minority in Egypt. It is the minority that appeared in Egypt in the early eighties, based on the writings and reviews of Dr. Ahmed Subhy Mansour, who relied on the Qur’an as a primary source and considered the Prophet’s Sunnah as human dictates subject to political accommodation.

Without delving into the jurisprudential or intellectual principles on which the Qur'anic minority in Egypt depends, it did not violate the law or infringe on the rights of others. It only exercises one of the basic rights which is freedom of thought and belief.

What Reda faces is not only a violation of the freedom of belief, but also a violation of basic human rights related to the right to a fair trial in case of accusation and the right to protection from arbitrary detention and from various types of psychological and moral torture. His enforced disappearance and his prevention of legal defense is a flagrant violation of principles Basic justice.

Andalus Center for Tolerance and Anti-Violence Studies calls on the Egyptian authorities to immediately release Reda Abdel Rahman and to stop violating freedom of thought and belief by pursuing members of various religious minorities,

The Center calls on the Egyptian authorities to respect the articles of the Egyptian constitution regarding rights and freedoms and the articles concerned with the right to a fair trial.

The human rights situation in Egypt has never been worse than that, and there is a complete absence of guarantees of justice, which threatens the stability of the entire nation. There is no good that comes from a lack of confidence in the rule of law and the prevalence of the police and oppressive grip of the state.

Commenting on the third arrest of the Islamic writer: Reda Abdel-Rahman on:

(And whoever acquires iniquity is only gaining it upon himself), (and do not burden one person’s load with the load of another)

Dr. Ahmed Subhy Mansour

on Saturday 19 September 2020

Commenting on the third arrest of the Islamic writer: Reda Abd al-Rahman Ali

First: The kidnapping of the hostages between El-Sisi and the gangs of Colombia and Mexico

1 - The civilized world is proud that it has a state of law and order, in which no one is above the law, and one of the foundations of the law for them is that no one is punished with a crime other than his, meaning that the criminal is only responsible for his crime. As for those who did not participate in the crime, they are not to be blamed or punished, meaning that the children or relatives of the criminal are not to be held accountable.

Rather, the (respectable) American mafia gangs in their wars among themselves have put in place a law that is not to harm the family, meaning that the family, wives and buildings remain separate from these wars. The drug cartels in Colombia and Mexico abandoned this way. In their wars among themselves, they kill the children of their opponents and take them as hostages.

2 - Worse than the gangs of Mexico and Colombia is the eastern despot. He thrives on terrorizing, frightening and terrifying the people. If the mafia of Mexico and Colombia are fighting with each other and with the police and all of them carry weapons, then the eastern despot is the one who monopolizes arms and confronts the defenseless people with it.

He uses the army and the security services against those he considers his opponents and adopts a policy of taking hostages. If an innocent person escapes from their oppression, they will take his mother or his sons as hostages so that the innocent will come to surrender to them.

3- In a tyrant’s state, you see wonders. He monopolizes wealth, squanders it and smuggles it abroad, and borrows billions at the expense of future generations of the people. He establishes luxurious cities and palaces, and at the same time pursues the poor with taxations and demolishes their homes over their heads, and whoever objects, his fate is imprisonment and misery.

The army’s job is to protect the homeland, and the police’s job is to protect the citizens, but the eastern despot owns the army and the police, and triumphs over the defenseless people. Nevertheless, he lives in terror of defenseless people, haunted by the nightmares of his victims

Because of his fear, his repression increases, and with the increase in repression, fear increases, so he resorts to more repression and fear increases, and thus it revolves in a vicious circle from fear and terror to repression and injustice until it ends up as it did with Saddam and Gaddafi, and a new regime comes that may be like the old one or worse. And the homeland remains in seas of blood.

4- To avoid this, we seek a peaceful solution, to prevent the bloodletting of the criminals and the innocents alike, because the victims of sedition and unrest are most of the weak and oppressed people on earth. War is the worst solution, even if it is a solution. The lesson is not to isolate the tyrant, but the solution is to teach the people the culture of democracy before the establishment of democracy.

This is the democratic transition, and it takes at least a generation. But the tyrant denies freedom of speech and pursues those who disagree with him in opinion even if they - like us - are peaceful reformers who do not look for the vanity of this world.

5- There is no hope for the progress of any country that prevents freedom of expression and freedom of religion, no matter how many faces of rulers, it will remain in corruption, enslavement and exclusion because its people are not ready for democracy, have not learned it in educational institutions and have not practiced it in freedom of expression. Therefore, I wrote Sisi calling for the release of political prisoners and the resort to peaceful reform to avoid bloodshed, in exchange for him and his descendants ruling an entire generation.

He must begin with a constitutional legislative reform that affirms absolute freedom for all, in religion, in belief, advocacy and worship, and prohibits in advance any legislation that goes after freedom of expression in all its forms, with democratic and educational reform and the transformation of Al-Azhar into a non-governmental civil society, thus preparing Egypt for a democratic transformation that will bear fruit after half a century, and by doing so, Sisi will enter history. I knew that he would not, but I wrote it to be a witness against him, in history and on Judgment Day.

6- Most of my writings are against the priesthood in the earthly religions of the Mohammedans that falsely bear the name of Islam. Religious political organizations aspiring to rule (such as the Muslim Brotherhood and the like) oppress the people and the Lord of the people, so the attack is focused on them, and a little attack comes at secular tyrants who only oppress people but do not justify their crimes by claiming that they speak for Islam.

If I were content with attacking the Muslim Brotherhood without attacking the secular tyrants, I would have been among the lucky ones, but the one who works in Islamic reform does not sell himself to human beings, for he has already sold himself to the Lord of mankind.

7 - My attack on Al-Sisi is not personal, rather because of my concern for him and to avoid spilling of blood. I was rewarded by him, by arresting some of my family members in 2015, including Mr. Reda Abdel-Rahman, then he re-arrested Mr. Reda Abdel-Rahman and is still in detention. By taking my family members as hostages to take revenge against me, he thus surpassed the gangs of Colombia and Mexico in crime

Second:

a Quranic view on this topic

The Holy Qur’an - which the Muhammedans disbelieve in - preceded East and West in the principle that the criminal bears alone the consequences of his crime, and it is strictly forbidden for the innocent to bear the burden of a crime he did not commit.
2- This came in a law consisting of seven words, the Almighty ,the Exalted said: (And whoever gains a sin, he will gain it upon himself) (111) An-Nisa '). Only the one who gains a sin or a crime is to be blamed and no other person is to be blamed.

3-This came in a law consisting of (five) words, which are: (And do not visit a burden on another one). Because of its importance, it was repeated five times in the Holy Quran. God Almighty said:

1/3: (And every soul does not gain except for itself, and no one carries the burden of another) (164) An'am)

2/3: Whoever is guided, he is guided for himself, and whoever goes astray, he goes astray against it, and no one should be burdened with any other’s. ”(15) Israa)

3/3 : (Thou shall not burden a soul with someone else’s burden, if a heavy laden soul is called to carry its load, none shall be carried by another, even if he was a close kin) (18)Fater

4/3 : (If you disbelieve, then God is in no need of you, He is never pleased with His creation’s disbelief, and if you are grateful, then He is pleased with you, and never burden a soul with someone else’s burden)(7)-Az-Zumur

5/3 : (Was he not told about the content in Moses’s papers (36) and Abraham, who delivered his message (37), that you should not burden a soul with someone else’s burden (38)).

In other words, this law came in the book of Abraham and the book of Moses, peace be upon them both, before the revelation of the Noble Qur’an.

4- This is reinforced by his saying of the Most High on the Day of Resurrection: (And they shall carry their misdeeds on their backs, woo to them their misdeeds (31) anam). So the wrongdoer will come on the Day of Resurrection, carrying his own misdeeds, no one will help him, and no one will bear his sins. There is an Egyptian proverb, telling the criminal (lift and carry), that is, what you carry is on your own back.

5-He, Revered and Exalted, revealed the following rules in successive verses:

5/1: Whoever sincerely seeks forgiveness for his sin, God Almighty will forgive him: (And whoever does evil or wrongs himself and then asks God for forgiveness will find God Forgiving, Most Merciful) (110) Annisaa

5/2: Crime is personal and only the criminal bears responsibility for it: (Whoever gains a sin is only gaining against himself . And God was Knowledgeable, Wise (111) Women)

5/3: Fabricating charges against the innocent is a major crime, that is, they conspire against the innocent and fabricate charges accusing him of conspiracy to punish him unjustly.( Women 112 )>

Those who fabricate accusations against us and others are committing an evident sin, but only they bear the responsibility, not their children and relatives.

Finally:

This is a warning to the unjust arrogant, because we fear for them

May be and perhaps, they might heed

09/19/2020

Commenting on the third arrest of the Islamic writer: Reda Abdel-Rahman Aly

(Reda Abdul Rahman) the innocent and the wrongly imprisoned

First:

The third arrest of Reda Abd al-Rahman was just before dawn on August 22, 2020. They arrested some of my relatives along with him, released them and kept Reda, they transferred him to the State Security Prosecution office, as stated in some newspapers reports. Their interrogations centered on the accusation that they had received funding from me.
Here are some facts:

Funding that falls under the scope of the law is that which is directed to illegal organizations or groups, that’s what the Egyptian state is concerned with, It does not include the Egyptians' transfers from abroad, not sending money to the vulnerable poor. We send zakat money to relatives of the poorest of the poor, sick, orphans, in cases of marriage and death, and we also send bags of clothes wherever they are available. It has never happened that we sent money to Reda because the previous conditions do not apply to him.
I am 71 years old and do not work, and I have no income from 2010 after working for nearly two years at the American Commission for Religious Freedom and the Woodrow Wilson Center. Therefore, I do not pay zakat. The one who sends the zakat is my four eldest sons, and this is according to circumstances and according to what is available, and since the day the Corona calamity came, two of them lost their jobs and became dependent on their two brothers who are still working. Therefore, there is no zakat for a few months due to Corona.
I had a pension in Egypt for my service at Al-Azhar University. I gave a power of attorney to a relative to collect in my absence, and he was giving it to a poor relative with a kidney disease. They stopped paying the pension two years ago under the pretext of renewing the power of attorney. I went - leaning on a walking stick - to the Egyptian Consulate in Washington, begging them to renew the power of attorney. They refused because they had instructions not to do anything for dissidents abroad. The amount that this lady was counting on stopped and she died.
God is sufficient for us, and He is the best to depend on.

Reda Abdul Rahman:

1/4: They did not charge him with financing the first and second arrests, while the children were sending zakat. Now after the zakat has stopped for several months, they accuse him of this accusation.

2/4: Reda stopped writing on our site (People of the Qur’an) and devoted himself to building an apartment in the family home after he got married and had children. He took out a loan from the bank with his salary as collateral. His salary is now about 3 thousand Egyptian pounds (after more than 13 years as a teacher at Al-Azhar), the bank deducts a third of the salary, and leaves Reda the rest, which is not enough.

3/4: After his work at the Al-Azhar Institute is done, Reda works in painting and gypsum installations. He climbs the scaffold and carries the mortar. He does not give private lessons, does not earn any unlawful monies, rather - being the distinguished Islamic writer – he works in construction - under the supervision of his younger brother Ahmed Abdel Rahman - so that he does not need anyone’s help.

4/4: By arresting him, they stopped his salary, and he is threatened with dismissal. In his absence, his wife is struggling to support herself and her daughter, pay the bank installment, and the expenses of treating and caring for Reda’s sick mother, and preparing food for her imprisoned husband, as they prevented the State Security prison from providing him with food in in Kafr Saqr. Then, after his transferring him to Cairo, she must travel in search of his location.

5/4: Is this the case of someone who receives funding from abroad?

God is sufficient for us, and He is the best to depend on.

Second:

The news item as it appeared in the newspapers.

The news item says: (Three accused were arrested in Sharkia on charges of reviving the "Quranic" movement in Egypt (details)

6 hours ago | Written by: Ahmed Shalaby:

Security sources said that the security services arrested 3 suspects a few days ago in Sharkia governorate, accusing them of reviving the "Quranic" movement in Egypt for a second time. The three defendants were referred to the Supreme State Security Prosecution in preparation for the start of the investigation with them regarding what is related to them.

In the eighties of the last century, the "Quranic" movement was established in Egypt under the leadership of Al-Azhari, Dr. Ahmed Sobhy Mansour, a former professor at Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, with the aim of giving a true picture of Islam with its tolerant face and ridding it of fanaticism, extremism and isolation, through the reliance of this group in understanding Islam on The Holy Qur’an only without the Sunnah, justifying that by the fact that the Prophet’s Sunnah or the hadiths of the Prophet Muhammad (may God bless him and grant him peace) were distorted as they were transmitted verbally across generations, and were not recorded until the third century AH, that is, more than two hundred years after the death of the Messenger.

According to the Qur’an’s understanding that during the era of the Umayyad state, the sultans ’preachers took advantage of the situation and assumed statements from them to satisfy the Sultan in justifying his grievances and falsely attributing them to the Prophet, while Qur’anic verses were written during the time of the Prophet himself, and a committee of the Companions was formed that collected the verses in a unified book, which is the Qur’an in the era of The third Caliph, Othman bin Affan. During the past years, the security services had arrested a number of people accused of belonging to that movement

The defendants are facing charges of promoting extremist ideas, which could stir up discord and unrest, due to their denial of the noble Prophet’s Sunnah and their promotion of these ideas in social circles and their endeavor to convince others of them.

End of news item.

We comment on it:

He says (the security services arrested 3 suspects a few days ago). It was (Reda only),
does this mean that they are in the process of arresting others with Reda, and then by torture they confess to anything?

2 - He says about our vocation: (with the aim of giving a true image of Islam with its tolerant face, and ridding it of fanaticism, extremism and isolation ...). This is our peaceful jihad to clarify the facts of Islam. President El-Sisi himself has repeatedly reiterated his call for reforming the religious discourse in accordance with what we are calling for. Do they charge him the same as us?

He repeated his saying (the Qur’anic movement). It is a security question that was previously directed at us in press interviews, and we have replied that we are not a movement and we are not an organization and we do not involve ourselves with politics because getting involved in politics requires that you tell people what they like, and we preach the Holy Qur’an about what people do not like. We are an intellectual trend relying mainly on the Internet .I have only some personal knowledge of some individuals. As for my family, they have nothing to do with anything, any thought, or any activity. Among them Who used to write was sentenced to prison in 2007, 2008.
4 - He says (The defendants are facing charges of promoting extremist ideas that are likely to stir up discord and unrest, due to their denial of the noble Prophet’s Sunnah and their promotion of these ideas in social circles and their efforts to convince others of them.)

4/1: (Reda Abd al-Rahman) has completely stopped writing so as to earn a living, this does not apply to him, and they know this.

4/2: Is the call for tolerance and the rejection of fanaticism, extremism and isolation considered extremist ideas?

4/3: The concept of (the Sunnah) is the Sharia and the method. That is, the application of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, to the Qur’an. And, peace be upon him, he summons people by and through the Quran. His Lord, the Exalted, , said to him: (So remind by the Qur’an, the one who fears my warning (CH/50/Ayah 45)). This is what we do by adhering to the true Sunnah of the Prophet, peace be upon him, and we are experts at it.

4/4 - We do not impose ourselves on anyone, nor do we impose our call on anyone, and we do not ask anyone for a reward. We say what we really believe at the loudest voice and then we forgive, as much as we can, those who take advantage of us..

4/5: With our adherence to the true Sunna of the Prophet, peace be upon him, we believe in religious freedom for all, and we say to those who differ with us: (And say to those who do not believe, keep on your standing, we will on ours (121) and wait, for Lo, we are waiting (122) Hood) .

finally :

We have no refuge but God Almighty. He is sufficient for us, the Almighty and the Exalted, and a Guardian. We exhort the one who overpowers us with His power, and we remind him of this Quranic verse: (Respond to your Lord before a day comes from Him,, of which there is no repelling, no refuge that day, and no denial.)( Al shora : 47 ).
