This page's main goal is to serve our community by increasing weather awareness, through weather education and timely posting of pertinent weather information. This saves lives, reduces injuries, and protects property. All watches, warnings, and forecasts posted here are verbatim from the National Weather Service or the Sto

rm Prediction Center, and will not be modified or edited. Questions, comments, and discussion are welcomed and encouraged... however we DO NOT provide point-specific forecasts upon request. All members of the Southwest Missouri Regional Skywarn Severe Weather team are required to be Skywarn Spotter certified and licensed ham radio operators. Our storm spotting experience ranges from one year to 20+. All members have various levels, and types, of additional training, experience, certification, or coursework, including, but not limited to:

meteorology, earth/atmospheric/planetary sciences, fire science/firefighter/fire instructor, First Responder/EMT, CERT, journalism/broadcast media, computer/information systems technology, emergency/Red Cross communications, and emergency operations management/net control for both VoIP Hurricane nets & Skywarn Weather Nets.

Wash, rinse, repeat. That seems to be the weather trend we're going through and the trend will be hanging around for a while. We're looking at another hot day across the area with highs near 100° once again. South winds 5 to 15 Mph.

The "Heat Advisory" was extended until 8PM Saturday evening.

Tonight: Partly to mostly clear skies expected with overnight lows in the mid to upper 70s.

Good morning & welcome to September! The year is going by fast, but hot temperatures will drag on through the remainder of the week and into our upcoming Labor Day Weekend.
Today will be similar to yesterday with skies becoming partly cloudy & highs in the upper 90s to around 100°.. Winds from the South 5 to 15 Mph.

The "Heat Advisory" remains in effect until 8PM CDT Friday evening.

Tonight: Partly to mostly clear skies expected with overnight lows in the mid to upper 70s with south winds 5 to 10 Mph.

The oven was set to high this afternoon as we topped out at 101° under partly cloudy skies in the Branson area.
The Extreme Heat Watch was canceled for tomorrow and the heat advisory was extended until 8PM Friday evening.

Currently in Branson it's 83° under partly cloudy skies for our bedtime weather

Overnight: Partly cloudy skies continue through our overnight hours with lows in the upper 70s.

Good morning! It's a sunny start to our day with temperatures currently in the upper 60s & low 70s this morning. Mostly sunny skies are expected through the day with hot temps in the upper 90s to near 100° this afternoon with SSW winds 5 to 10 Mph. Heat index values around 105 to 108°..
The "Extreme Heat Watch" was canceled for tomorrow and the "Heat Advisory" which begins at noon today, will now run through 8PM Friday Sept 4th.
Rain chances this week are slim to none.

Tonight: Mainly clear skies are expected with warm overnight lows in the mid to upper 70s.

Remain hydrated and limit outdoor activities. Check on neighbors and the elderly. Watch for signs of heat illnesses and heat stroke.

An Extreme Heat Watch is also in effect from noon Tuesday afternoon through 8 PM Friday evening, with heat index values up to 110 possible. 🥵

Good morning. It's a rather pleasant start to our weekend, but temperatures build to near 100° by tomorrow and the hot temperatures look to remain through next week with little to no rain chances. I wouldn't be surprised if the issues at least a Heat Advisory.

Stay hydrated and limit outdoor activities during the high heat. Check on neighbors and the elderly.
