Skill-building meets community care in the best way!

Our Junior League of Springfield members recently participated in a CPR + NARCAN training, gaining hands-on, practical skills that can make a life-saving difference in an emergency.

It was equal parts focused and eye-opening, with members practicing techniques, asking questions, and building confidence in what to do when a situation turns urgent and unpredictable.

We’re grateful for opportunities like this that strengthen not only our members, but the communities they serve. 💛 Because being ready to help isn’t just a skill, it’s a responsibility we’re proud to carry.

Congratulations to our Cheri Clark Bouquet of Enthusiasm Award winner, Morgan Harper! 💐

This special award is given in honor of past Junior League of Springfield member Cheri Clark, who tragically passed away in 1989. It celebrates members who carry forward her legacy of warmth, enthusiasm, and wholehearted commitment to service within the League and our community.

Morgan has truly embodied that spirit. As the Chair of our Community Projects Committee, she has brought energy, care, and initiative to every project she touches while strengthening our relationships with community partners across Springfield. This year alone she played key roles in organizing countless Drew Lewis dinners and coordinating two Blue House projects with the Drew Lewis Foundation. Morgan has helped turn service into lasting impact. She also played a key role in the playroom makeover at Isabel’s House and the Winter Wonderland Resource Fair, creating meaningful moments for families in our community.

We are so grateful for Morgan’s leadership, enthusiasm, and heart. ♥️🖤

There’s a very specific kind of excitement that happens when service becomes something you can feel before it’s even been seen.

Our Junior League of Springfield members recently partnered with Isabel’s House on a playroom makeover, transforming a space designed for comfort and care into something bright, joyful, and full of possibility for the kids they serve.

What made this project especially meaningful was imagining the moment it would all come together: kids waking up from nap time and stepping into a completely transformed playroom. A space that suddenly feels new, welcoming, and made just for them. 💛

That moment matters more than it might seem. For children experiencing uncertainty, stability is often built in small pieces; familiar routines, safe spaces, and moments of pure delight. A room full of color, toys, and intentional care can become more than a playroom. It can be a reminder that they are supported, seen, and valued.

Our members left this project energized, grateful, and deeply proud to play even a small part in creating that kind of joy. We are so thankful for our partnership with Isabel’s House and for the opportunity to invest in spaces that invest back into children.

2026 Founders Fund Scholarship Recipient: Lauren Audrey Odom ❤️🖤

Lauren Odom, senior at Kickapoo High School and daughter of Al and Sarah Odom, has built an extraordinary high school career defined by service, leadership, and heart. With more than 400 service hours and a Gold Medal Service Award, she has consistently shown up for her community through work with organizations like Ronald McDonald House, Harmony House, Isabels House, Ozarks Honor Flight, Relay for Life, Shriners Hospital, and Building Bridges Hand in Hand, and many more - a list too long to be contained in a simple social media post.

At school, Lauren has been a driving force as Service Commissioner on Student Council Executive Cabinet, leading impactful blood drives, organizing service projects, and helping create inclusive events for students with special needs. She’s also deeply involved in multiple organizations, from HOSA and DECA to National Honor Society and Peer Mediators, while balancing athletics, dual credit coursework, and multiple jobs in healthcare and service roles.

Her dedication has also earned her the Missouri Seal of Biliteracy in Spanish and recognition as a Missouri A+ Scholar. Through every role she’s taken on, Lauren has shown a rare combination of discipline, empathy, and leadership.

The Founders Fund Scholarship was created to recognize young women who embody the values of the Junior League; women who are committed to improving their communities through effective action and leadership. Lauren exemplifies these values in every sense. She is not only a reflection of what this scholarship stands for today, but also a promise of the impact it will continue to have through her in the future.
