I recently read an article entitled "FreeWill - Blessing or a Curse?". It was an interesting viewpoint supporting that freewill was a little too much to give us humans. Truthfully, I can admit that most of the trouble I've gotten myself into came directly from a bad choice BUT I thank God for each and every bad choice I've made. Why? Because I've never heard a sermon or a lecture that affected my resolve not to do that dumb thing again like actually EXPERIENCING the consequences of a BAD DECISION. Thank God my head is hard and I'm not permanently disfigured from the licks upside my head I've gotten from making bad decisions. What is amazing is that Our Father loves us so much that He would allow us to CHOOSE not to follow Him. Wow! He could have made us little worship puppies, but instead he said I love you enough to let you choose to reject me! That's pretty amazing that he loves me sooooo much!! He loves you too so choose to be His willing steward today!

IT'S A NEW SEASON...there are times when we know we have reached the end. Those things that we once relished no longer fill us. What we once looked forward to now is.....hard to face and hard to complete. So, instead of changing directions we continue to do...we continue to work but it is more laborious than we ever thought possible. Our season has ended. Stewardship should be effective! Stewardship should be productive! Stewardship should bear fruit! Are you working on and giving your talent to something that is out of season?

The Holy Spirit in you that has snatched your joy while doing that thing is clearly pointing you to the door, to your new season and your new responsibility. Let's get back to bearing fruit. All we are doing now is crushing the fruit beneath our feet! We are making wine instead of making fruit salad! The season has passed. You are intruding on someone else's assignment. There is much work to do so get where you are supposed to be and do it quickly!

What Will You Render in 2014?

How wonderful to receive the blessing of living to see a new year? There are many who started this journey but were not destined to see this day. This is the Lord's day and I will rejoice, sing and shout His praises and be glad in it. This new presents of course new challenges since those demons we faced in 2013 are still present although they may be covered in the blood and dormant. But I praise God that the opportunities given to us as we enter this new year are boundless. The word tells us that a reward is waiting for us if we choose to spend our time here on earth as a good steward. Giving our 10% is just the beginning, how will we invest the remaining 90% so that He is constantly glorified and lifted in everything that we do. A wonderful new beginning! Another chance to show Him how grateful we are that He has allowed us another opportunity to earn the acclaim "Well done, thy good and faithful servant. Well done!".
