Riverdahl, head of field operations at Pecatonica, the size and versatility of the gun will enable Illinois State Police to greatly increase their efficiency in apprehending speed violators.”

August 30, 1973, Illinois State Police Trooper Wicklund, D4 PIO demonstrates a Speedgun, which were just issued last week. According to the Suburbanite Economist, “Looking on (left) is Al Russell, the manufacturer of the Speedgun, (right) Circuit court Judge Irving W. Eiserman, familiarizing himself with the gun's abilities for court cases.” "The big difference," commented Albert S. Hinds, Field Operations commander, is that the Speedgun is a small hand-held device which does not necessarily depend upon the trooper's squad car for power." (Likely a reference to VASCAR)
