MOPA LEGISLATIVE DAY-MARCH 15, 2017! Save the date for Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at 8:30 a.m. in Jefferson City. This year we secured an invitation to set-up outside Representative Hubrecht's office on the 2nd floor. We had a great time last year with the psychologists and trainees that attended and it absolutely made a difference in keeping our senators and representatives updated on important issues affecting us. As a result, we had one of most effective legislative years in a long time. Now we want to keep building momentum at a time when so much is changing!
Relevant Issues:
Accountability & Regulation of Managed Care
Postdoctoral Restructuring
Tele-Health Inter-State PsyPact
Internship Reimbursement
Funding of H&B Codes (now that we got them passed into law last year)
General Awareness & Increased Visibility
Please also invite your post-docs, interns, and practicum students.
Schedule for Day:
8:30 a.m. Arrive at Capital (Allow time to pass through Security on South Side 1st floor entrance)
Tables & Chairs available outside Rm. 201 on 2nd floor
9:00 a.m - 12:00 p.m. Meet with legislators
12:30 p.m. Lunch (Location TBA)
Afternoon Meetings Continue as Necessary
This is a great opportunity to network with other psychologists and our lawmakers. Prior experience is not required - this is a lot of fun and we have plenty of veterans glad to show you the way. While each year is important, there are so many things changing for psychologists right now. We need you there like never before to advocate for our profession and the communities we serve. Let me or any of our board members know if you have any questions.
Thanks and see you there!
