Our hearts are with Tucson.

We mourn Vincent Anthony Siqueiros and Cameron Davis Capara, who were killed in a senseless act of hate outside Venture-N, a place that should have been safe.

This is not just Tucson’s grief. It is a loss felt across our entire LGBTQ+ community.

To everyone feeling scared, angry, heartbroken, or simply exhausted by hate: you are not alone. You are loved. You belong.

Springfield Black Tie stands with Tucson, with the loved ones of Vincent and Cameron, and with LGBTQ+ communities everywhere. We will continue to believe in and fight for a future where everyone can live openly, gather safely, and be exactly who they are without fear.

Who is making a lasting difference in our community?

Nominations are now open for the Michelle Baltz Community Service Award, recognizing individuals whose service, leadership, and dedication have made a meaningful and lasting impact on the LGBTQ+ community in southwest Missouri.

Named in memory of Michelle Baltz, longtime Springfield Black Tie Board Member and past Vice President, the award honors individuals who demonstrate the generosity, compassion, leadership, and commitment to community that defined Michelle's life.

Help us recognize the individuals whose work and service are strengthening our community, including those whose contributions often happen quietly behind the scenes.

Nominations are open through September 15.
