Enactus UWC Projects
UNIBUY
A project developed for the Unilever Sustainable Living Plan Challenge, combines sustainability efforts with consumer convenience and economic integrity. Enactus UWC has developed a mobile shopping tool to bring popular Unilever products directly to students at a discounted rate. This will save students time and money while increasing their Unilever brand support. Key
success factors for the Unibuy service are low pricing, convenience, and product quality. ECO-ENERGY
Project was created as a way to provide an economical and sustainable fuel sources. Using biomass technology, recycled raw materials such as sawdust, paper, and cardboard, are used to make briquettes. EcoEnergy embodies the simple concept of gaining wealth from waste without the use of chemicals or binders in the making of biomass briquettes. Due to the sustainability of the product, EcoEnergy offers many environmental and economic benefits. Enactus UWC has conducted cost comparisons that indicate that EcoEnergy briquettes are cheaper to produce and sell in comparison to traditional fuel sources. The briquettes can be used in industrial boilers as well as home cooking and heating systems. SOLAR POWER
This project is being developed as an alternative source of energy initiative. The project however, is still in its research phase. Once implementation phase is ready the idea will be taken to schools and taught to the pupils in order to raise money for their schools. CHILDRENS HOLIDAY PROGRAMME
Students create a programme that consists of both educational and fun interactive activities for the children of the Belhar East community. Each year a different theme is selected based on the needs of the children. We have focused on anti-bullying; basic hygiene; and safety as themes in the past three years. Enactus UWC members are welcome to sign up and join the planning and organising committee.
