West Central Neighborhood Alliance WCNA fosters pride and awareness in West Central, advocating for an inclusive, vibrant neighborhood. We ask for a $10 donation to become a member of WCNA.

We aim to create an affordable, desirable, and diverse living environment where all can thrive, whether working, residing, or enjoying activities. West Central Neighborhood Alliance (WCNA) is an organization promoting the overall betterment of our neighborhood. Located on Route 66, West Central is proud to have significant historical roots in Springfield. Home residents, businesses, schools, churches, and parks, West Central is more than just a zip code. Becoming a member of the WCNA is a great way to strengthen neighborhood community. Citizen support and involvement is critical to continue the alliance’s efforts to promote improvements. Quarterly meetings are held at McGregor Elementary School and open to the public. Feel free to contact us at (417) 569-8866 if you would like an application mailed to you.

Neighbors helping neighbors is what it’s all about! Another hour or so left for the clean-up.

And we can have a little fun along the way.

Don't forget! This Saturday, Oct 3rd, is the Free Garage Sale at Resurrection Church. Starting at 8 AM and ends at 1 PM or earlier if everything is picked up. If donating, they are taking furniture, household goods, clothes, and toys! You can drop off items from 9 AM to 1 PM daily until this Thursday. If you need time outside of that, please text or call at 417-865-4374 to coordinate with the church.

One of the cool things about West Central is the number of small, interesting places tucked into our neighborhood, and Arrow Creative Reuse is definitely one worth supporting.

Arrow is an art supply and craft thrift store where donated materials get a second life instead of ending up in the trash. You can find everything from fabric, yarn, paper and paint supplies to beads, frames, craft materials and all kinds of odds and ends waiting for someone with a little imagination.

If you’re working on a project, have kids who love making things, or just enjoy digging through a good thrift store, stop in and see what you can find.

And if you have art or craft supplies sitting around that you know you’re never going to use, consider donating them instead of throwing them away.

Supporting neighborhood businesses and organizations is one of the easiest ways we can help make West Central a more interesting, connected place to live. Give Arrow Creative Reuse a visit and help spread the word!

West Central and Fassnight are teaming up for a neighborhood cleanup on Saturday, October 3, and we need some neighbors willing to lend a hand!

We’ll be at the former Southside Baptist Church parking lot from 7:30 AM to noon. We could especially use volunteers to help unload trucks as neighbors bring items in and direct traffic to keep everything moving safely.

The cleanup runs from 8:00 AM to noon and gives residents of both West Central and Fassnight a chance to get rid of unwanted household items and help clean up our neighborhoods.

You don’t have to stay the whole morning. If you can spare an hour or two (or whatever time you have), we’d love to have you.

It’s also a good excuse to get out, meet some neighbors from both sides of the neighborhood line, and work alongside folks who care about making our little corner of Springfield a better place.

Come for whatever time you can spare. Many hands make for a much easier morning!
