DPA funding is back! 🏠

Restore SGF has a small round of funding available for our Down Payment Assistance Program.

This round will be competitive and first come, first served, so buyers will need to be qualified and have the required documentation ready.

A huge thank you to the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines and OMB Bank for helping make this round possible and continuing to invest in homeownership in Springfield.

OMB Bank is proud to present Restore SGF with a $40,000 grant supporting its Down Payment Assistance Program. The program provides qualified first-time homebuyers with $9,000 toward down payment and closing costs when purchasing a home in designated Springfield neighborhoods.

The grant combines $10,000 from OMB with $30,000 from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines through its Member Impact Fund. We’re proud to help Restore SGF expand homeownership and encourage continued investment in Springfield’s historic neighborhoods.

Just as this round of Down Payment Assistance funding was coming to an end, OMB Bank and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines stepped up in a big way!

Restore SGF has been awarded a $40,000 grant to help qualified first-time homebuyers with down payment and closing-cost assistance in our designated neighborhoods. This includes a $10,000 contribution from OMB Bank and a $30,000 matching grant from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines.

This investment means more families will have the opportunity to achieve homeownership while continuing to strengthen Springfield's neighborhoods.

Need Home Accessibility Upgrades For Aging In Place? We May Be Able to Help!

Restore SGF's Healthy Homes for Seniors program helps eligible homeowners 60 years and older make necessary repairs so they can continue living safely and comfortably in their homes.

📍 Eligible Neighborhoods:
• Doling Park (East)
• Fassnight
• Grant Beach
• Meador Park (East)
• Woodland Heights

How It Works:

1. Apply – Complete a Healthy Homes for Seniors application.

2. Home Visit – A Restore SGF staff member will visit your home to discuss your project, answer questions, and take photos.

3. Gather Bids – Obtain estimates from contractors. (Contractors must have an active business license filed with the City of Springfield.)

4. Application Review – Once all required documents have been received, Restore SGF will review your application for eligibility.

5. Approval – If approved, you'll receive an Approval Letter and can begin your project.

6. Complete the Work – Finish your approved project and submit your final invoices and receipts.

7. Reimbursement – Restore SGF will process your reimbursement after confirming the completed work.

If you're 60 or older, live in one of our five target neighborhoods, and need home repairs, we'd love to talk with you.

We have officially committed our final Down Payment Assistance grant for this funding cycle!

Since this grant has launched, Restore SGF has helped more than 100 first-time homebuyers achieve the dream of homeownership through our Down Payment Assistance Grant. From working one-on-one with buyers, lenders, and title companies to guiding each family through the process, we've been proud to help make homeownership more accessible in Springfield.

Thank you to the City of Springfield for providing the funding that made this possible, and to the many lenders, title companies, Realtors, and community partners who helped connect buyers with this opportunity.

While we are no longer accepting applications, we hope to continue this project as future funding becomes available. Programs like this make a real difference for first-time homebuyers and help strengthen neighborhoods across our community.

Thank you to everyone who has supported Restore SGF and helped make homeownership possible for more than 100 families.

Applications Are Now Open for Healthy Homes for Seniors!

Restore SGF is excited to announce that the Healthy Homes for Seniors program is accepting applications.

This program helps eligible seniors make improvements that allow them to live more safely, comfortably, and independently in their homes. Eligible projects may include:

HVAC replacement
Energy-efficient windows and doors
Accessibility improvements
Bathroom modifications
Other health and safety improvements

The program is available to homeowners age 60+ living in our service area:

Doling Park East
Fassnight
Grant Beach
Meador Park East
Woodland Heights

Funding is limited and applications will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis.
