The Central Illinois Builders (CIB) is a construction contractors association established in 1955 to represent management in matters of labor relations—a core focus that continues today. In 1956, CIB became a local chapter of the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC), authorized to serve contractors across a 46-county region in central Illinois. Beyond labor relations, CIB actively engag

es in legislative advocacy before the Illinois General Assembly, promotes safety initiatives, supports construction industry education, and fosters collaboration with public agencies and design professionals. The organization also sponsors essential member programs, including workers’ compensation and other key benefits.

On June 6th, we had the privilege of celebrating the East Central Illinois Building And Construction Trades Council & HIRE360 Central Illinois Pre-Apprenticeship Graduation - a milestone that marks the beginning of exciting careers in the trades for these dedicated individuals.

This program represents more than training—it’s an investment in our workforce, our communities, and the future of the construction industry. The graduates have demonstrated commitment, perseverance, and a strong work ethic, and we couldn’t be more proud of their accomplishments.

State Senator Paul Faraci and State Representative Brandun Schweizer joined in recognizing the achievements of these graduates and supporting workforce development in Central Illinois.
