⛳️ 30 DAYS until our Annual Tee 1 D Foundation Golf Tournament! 💙

This is more than just a golf tournament for us. It’s our biggest fundraiser of the year and helps make everything we do for our community possible.
From events and connections to support and resources throughout the year, this tournament directly impacts so many families living with Type 1 Diabetes.

We are incredibly grateful for everyone who sponsors, plays, donates, and supports this event year after year.

Sunday was such a sweet reminder that community makes everything better. Our st the zoo day at Dickerson Park Zoo was a HUGE success! Full of connection, laughs, sunshine, animal encounters, and the best people. 🐘🌿

We had 97 total attendees and welcomed 5 brand new into the group, and it is truly an honor to experience this growth with such an incredible community. 🥹💙

A huge thank you to Ken and Bridget Austin Harmon and Company for being such gracious hosts and helping make this day so special for everyone!

✨ Spotlight: Ariella Coleman ✨

Meet Ariella, an amazing 8-year-old with the biggest personality and heart! 💙

🏀 Ariella plays competitive basketball for MO Flight and has already won several championships! She also loves gymnastics and staying active.
🐶 She’s a total dog whisperer and has never met a dog that doesn’t love her. One of her favorite things is helping lost dogs find their way back home.
🌳 Ariella loves the outdoors and adventure. Whether she’s climbing trees, digging for bugs, or riding her bike, she’s happiest outside exploring.
😂 And according to everyone who knows her… she is HILARIOUS. Ariella is always ready with a joke, prank, or way to make people laugh.

Ariella was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes on December 23, 2022, at just 4 years old.
A few days before Christmas, she started feeling sick with vomiting and a high fever. What first seemed like a typical illness quickly became something much more serious. By December 23rd, Ariella could no longer stay awake, walk, or talk. Her family rushed her to the doctor where she was diagnosed with T1D and admitted to the PICU in DKA.
Her family spent about a week in the hospital learning how to care for their sweet girl while she fought ketones, high blood sugars, and all the overwhelming emotions that come with a diagnosis at such a young age.

Thankfully, since her initial hospitalization, Ariella has been doing well and utilizing the incredible life-saving technology available today for diabetics. 💙

We are so thankful to have Ariella and her family as part of our community!

✨ DIABESTIE SPOTLIGHT ✨

Meet this month’s Diabestie spotlight - Keegan 💙

Keegan is currently 11 years old and was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at age 6, the day before his family was scheduled to leave for vacation. Although his blood sugar was over 1,000 at the doctor’s office, they were fortunate to catch it early. He avoided DKA and spent only three days in the hospital before beginning his journey learning how to live with T1D.

Since his diagnosis, Keegan has learned so much about managing his diabetes and taking care of himself. He’s always willing to answer questions from friends or help anyone who might be navigating a new diagnosis.

When he’s not managing his T1D, Keegan stays busy playing baseball, ice hockey, and football. He also attends a hockey camp specifically for Type 1 diabetics every summer, combining his love for the sport with a community that understands his journey. Outside of sports, he loves reading, hanging out with his friends and brother, and building Legos.

And when he grows up? Keegan hopes to become an engineer.

We’re proud to have Keegan as part of the Tee 1 D Diabestie community. Your strength, kindness, and willingness to help others is inspiring! 💙

As a valued member of the Tee 1 D community, we are excited to invite you to an exclusive roundtable event designed to gather ideas, feedback, and strategies to enhance and grow our organization.

This is an ADULTS ONLY EVENT - so please plan accordingly!

This event is specifically for caregivers of children with Type 1 diabetes or adults living with Type 1 diabetes. Your experiences and insights are incredibly important to us, and we believe that your input can significantly contribute to the future success of Tee 1 D.

We have also been presented with an outreach and advertising opportunity that could help grow and enhance our Tee 1 D community! Before moving forward, we want to hear from you. Your feedback and opinions are crucial in helping us make decisions that align with the needs and values of our community.
