What does St. Paul teach us about the place of the Old Testament in the Christian life?

In 2 Timothy, St. Paul points to Scripture as essential for teaching, correction, righteousness, and forming us for the good works to which God calls us.

At Agora University Press, scholarship is more than the pursuit of knowledge. It is an invitation to think deeply, seek truth faithfully, and allow the life of the mind to become a place of transformation. Through thoughtful theological scholarship, we seek to publish work that serves the Church, engages the world, and contributes meaningfully to the renewal of Christian thought.

Blessed Feast of Nairuz!

The Church’s new year invites every Christian to ask what it means to belong wholly to Christ, to live with eternity in view, and to know that every offering made in faith participates in the life of the Kingdom.

May this new year deepen in us the courage to live the Gospel faithfully and anchor our hope in the Kingdom that has no end.

Church history helps us understand the faith we have received by listening closely to the lives, struggles, questions, and witness of those who came before us. Through electives such as The Alexandrian Church (I &II), History of Ethiopic or Nubian Christianity, and Church History II: The Oriental Church, M.T.S students encounter Christian communities whose theology and worship were shaped across centuries of faithfulness, challenge, and change. To study their history is to understand our own inheritance more deeply, and to see the Church not as an abstraction, but as a living body carrying the faith from one generation to the next.

In the Feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, the Church remembers the completion of her earthly life and her departure to the heavenly glory. Honored as the Mother of God, her life remains a model of humility, faith, and devotion. In her story, the faithful see the hope of the life that God prepares for those who love Him.
