Hi! My name is Raven Gillespie and I’m an assistant manager at the garden. I’m a Junior double majoring in Urban & Regional Planning, Geography, & Sustainability. I love spending time outside in the garden & watching as our hard work grows and changes throughout the season!!! As a planning nerd, I think urban agriculture is one of the best ways to support our cities, feed people, and make the world a little more green. We would love to see YOU in the garden!

Hi! I’m Zach, an Assistant Manager at Missouri State University’s Campus Garden. I am majoring in Horticulture and have always had a passion for plants, growing, and learning more about the horticulture industry. I’m grateful for the opportunity the Campus Garden has given me to gain hands-on experience while also giving back to the Springfield community. One of my favorite parts of working at the garden has been helping grow and harvest fresh produce that goes to the Bear Pantry and others in need. I’ve also enjoyed working alongside our staff, volunteers, and community members who help keep the garden growing. The experience I’ve gained here is something I’ll carry with me as I continue my education and career in horticulture!

Hey everyone! My name is Ember, and I am the Community Engagement Manager for the Campus Garden. I am a senior majoring in Environmental Plant Science with a focus on Horticulture. I take great pride in our collaborations with the Bear Pantry and Springfield Community Gardens, which help us connect the garden with the broader Springfield community. The support of our volunteers is essential to making all of this work possible, and I am grateful for the time and effort they contribute to our garden and outreach! 🌻✨

Hi! I’m Mariah, the manager at Missouri State University’s Campus Garden. I am majoring in Environmental Plant Science with a focus on Horticulture and minoring in Forestry. I am so grateful to be a part of the Campus Garden and for the opportunity it has given me to support the community. I love caring for plants and learning how to be sustainable. I also enjoy working with faculty and volunteers. All their support for the garden and the Bear Pantry allows us to help those in need!

Welcome back Bears! We had such a great Welcome Week hosting URSA and tabling at Bear Bash. Thank you for everyone who came and supported the garden, we look forward to seeing all your new faces at volunteer hours.

Volunteer hours will resume August 25th and will be twice weekly. Tuesdays 8-10 pm and Wednesdays 2-4 pm. Reach out for private events and keep an eye out for future tabling events and activities! 👩‍🌾🌱🥒

We are so excited for the fall semester to start and all the events the Campus Garden is hosting!

Volunteer hours will resume August 25th and will be hosted twice a week to accommodate students with different schedules. We will also be hosting private volunteer events and GEP 101 classes.

We look forward to welcoming all Bears back to campus and launching our cookbook at the Bear Pantry!! 🐻👩‍🌾🌱
