Happy National FFA Week! 💙💛

This week celebrates the incredible impact FFA has on students and highlights its mission to prepare future leaders for careers in agriculture, science, business, and technology.

Clark County is proud to have seven FFA chapters, with many members showcasing livestock, woodworking, welding, plant science, and other projects at the Clark County Fair. We are also fortunate to have several FFA-run food trucks at our fair that support both the chapters and our community.

FFA has personally shaped me by teaching me valuable skills like public speaking, teamwork, and organization. These skills continue to guide me in my role as Clark County Fair Queen and will benefit me throughout life.

Thank you to all of our FFA members and advisors for the work you do!

This year, I had the opportunity to attend the 101st Ohio Fair Managers Association Convention. Last night, I spent the evening getting to know the fair queens from all over Ohio and learned about what makes their fairs unique and some of their special traditions. I truly enjoyed meeting everyone.

Today, I completed my interview, spent time meeting and getting to know more queens, and attended a lovely dinner.

This evening, I had the honor of representing Clark County at the Ohio Fairs’ Queen Contest and was proud to place in the Top 15.

Thank you to the OFMA queen committee for putting together an amazing event.

Happy National 4-H Week! 🍀

This year’s theme for National 4-H week is “Beyond Ready.” I can truly say that 4-H prepared me for high school, Fair Queen, and as I began my college journey.

I got my start in agriculture and fair activities through 4-H by showing pigs and goats, completing cooking and clothing projects, serving as a 4-H Camp Counselor, and being part of the Food and Fashion Board.

These experiences taught me responsibility, communication, teamwork, and professionalism, all of which have already helped me in college, from being involved in student organizations to balancing classwork and new responsibilities. Even attending 4-H meetings helped me understand how student organizations run, making it easier to get involved on campus.

Clark County is the birthplace of 4-H, which makes being part of this program even more meaningful to me. I’m so thankful for everything 4-H has given me and how it’s helped me be “Beyond Ready.”

This weekend I had the chance to attend two amazing events that brought so many people together.

On Saturday, I had the honor of riding in the New Carlisle Heritage of Flight Parade. Afterward, I was invited to participate in the Heritage of Flight Ambassador Ceremony, where I helped pass out awards to this year’s new ambassadors. It was a beautiful ceremony recognizing some truly inspiring individuals. I also had a great time walking around the festival, visiting vendors, and experiencing the community spirit.

Sunday, I traveled to the Fairfield County Fair. I got to see donkey and miniature horse races, attended the Opening Ceremony where they introduced the new fair queen and honored past queens, and enjoyed exploring the fairgrounds. One unique feature of the fair setup was a group of campers positioned on a lower surface in the middle of the track. The barns were beautiful, especially the round dairy barn, one of the first show and sale barns. I also loved the log cabin and tool shed display. A highlight was meeting a former fair manager who shared some incredible stories and history of the fair. It was a fun and memorable way to end this year’s fair season!
